Louis’ p.o.v.

Louis quickly put his books in his locker and grabbed his coat. He took his beanie off and fixed his hair before putting his beanie back on. He must’ve looked like some tramp. He wanted to cry right then and there but he knew he couldn’t. He couldn’t cry anymore, Louis had cried already too much in his life and promised himself he wouldn’t cry anymore.

Louis made his way home, walking slowly, listening to The Fray. His iPhone was the only thing he had left. He had a job as bartender, in a small café in a suburb of London. He lived close to the bar, in a crappy house. The house he lived in was very small. Louis didn’t have much stuff. He didn’t even have a bed, his mother sold it because she needed money to buy drugs. Louis slept on only a mattress.

Every night Louis would cry himself to sleep because he felt sorry for his mother. He felt sorry for her because his mother and father divorced and his father left her with him. He took her daughters and moved to Australia. That’s how his mother got into drugs; the divorce of her and her husband and being left alone with Louis.

She cared about Louis, but she didn’t love him like she should. She didn’t love him like he was her son. That’s why she didn’t care about getting stoned every night, hell even passing out sometimes. Louis could take care of himself, right? He was almost seventeen after all.

Louis didn’t think about it that way. He felt like he needed to be loved. No one loved him, ever. Sure, Liam cared about him, but if he loved him? They’d only known each other for three years. He couldn’t love him in a brotherly way because they barely hung out after school. They were just ‘school friends’.

Louis sighed as he saw the suburb where he lived in appearing at the horizon. He hated walking to school every day. It was quite a long walk, but he didn’t have any money to take a buss or train.

He saved his money for more important things; school stuff. Notebooks, pencils, clothes, food. Things he needed to survive. He had to look decent when going to school because let’s be honest; who would want to have a student at their school that looked like a tramp? No one. So Louis bought himself some clothes once in a while. Mostly striped shirts and skinny jeans. He had one pair of shoes; TOMS. But he could manage with one pair of shoes; TOMS were good shoes.

Louis opened the door of his house and walked in. The smell of weed hung in the air. Oh it was that time again. Louis sighed and went upstairs to his bedroom. He plopped down on his bed and unpacked his bag. He quickly did his homework and thought about what he would make for dinner that evening. His mom was probably high so she couldn’t cook. Sighing he stood up and made his way over to the bathroom. When he looked in the mirror he jumped. He didn’t know he looked that bad!

He had black bags under his eyes and his feathery hair was hanging loose along his face. He put the beanie further over his hair and looked closer. His eyes were red and his face was pale.

Louis couldn’t help but think what Harry had thought about him that afternoon. If he had looked like that all day long Harry would’ve been so disgusted by him. Louis sighed and got up. It was seven o’clock and he had to go to work.

After putting on a plain white t-shirt and suspenders on, he grabbed his coat and made his way to the bar he worked at. He greeted Niall and Zayn as he walked in. Niall and Zayn were Louis’ regular customers. They were at the bar every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Niall was an Irish boy. His bleached blonde hair fitted perfectly with his ocean blue eyes. The boy was always hungry and never seemed to worry about things.

Zayn was Niall’s boyfriend. Zayn was your typical bad boy. He had black hair and deep brown eyes. He had an amazing smile and his hair was always styled into perfection. Zayn and Niall had been together for three years now and Louis thought they were the most adorable couple ever.
