5 Seconds Of Summer (commonly abbreviated as 5sos, pronounced 5 sauce and NEVER 5 es-oh-es, but even I made that mistake at first) is an Australian punk rock/pop punk band (they are NOT pop rock or a boy band) consisting of lead singer Luke Hemmings, bassist Calum Hood, guitarist Michael Clifford and drummer Ashton Irwin. 5 Seconds Of Summer was formed when Luke, Calum and Michael were just 15 years old. Luke posted covers on his YouTube channel, hemmo1996. He made a band with his friends Michael and Calum and they made covers too. They then realised they needed a drummer, so they found 17 year old Ashton Irwin on the social media website Facebook and he joined the band on 3rd December 2011. They continued posting covers on YouTube, but then One Direction found them and asked them to open for one of their shows. This was when 5sos got even more popular than before. They were signed to a label and made their debut album in 2013 and they released their hit single She Looks So Perfect (abbreviated SLSP - everything is abbreviated so watch out) which was very popular and was played on many radio stations. Their fame continued when they released another hit single, She's Kinda Hot (or SKH) prior to the release of their second album, Sounds Good Feels Good (SGFG). They later released music videos for the tracks Hey Everybody! and Jet Black Heart (JBH). They had their first tour, Rock Out With Your Socks Out (ROWYSO) in 2015 and their next tour, Sounds Live Feels Live (SLFL), will be in 2016. They have also recently released a movie, How Did We End Up Here? (HDWEUH) about their fame and about the band in general.
