            Dakota held me close and I snuggled in, under the grasp of his arm. "You want to know why I dragged you here?" I looked up at him. "Do you know what today's date is?" "Not a clue," I replied. I suddenly here a shooting noise and an explosion. I turned my attention from Dakota to the Brooklyn bridge where I see fireworks going off. One after another. "Happy fourth of July babe," he said. He kissed me and I smiled a huge smile. "Oh my fucking god!" I stood up from the embankment and looked across the water to the city shining its glorious lights. Feelings of joy and happiness shot through me and I turned to him. I grabbed him by his wrist and forced him up, making our lips meet. Fireworks still going off in the background. It was perfect, another childhood fantasy come to life. Me and the love of my life, kissing, fireworks in the background, the bright lights of my home city, and cheers loud enough for China to hear. I wanted this moment to continue on and never end. "Thank you Dakota." "Anything for you Ethan. I promised you a pleasant time, and that's what I'm delivering." "No. Dakota, it isn't a pleasant time," I said. His face dropped. "What?" Sadness filled his eyes. "Dakota, it isn't pleasant because it's better than pleasant. You gave me a memory I will never forget for as long as I live, and if I do, that'll be the day I die. Dakota, this is beyond words." He smiled and hugged me tight. Tears rolled out of his eyes as we faced the city. "You're the best," he whispered. I hugged him tighter, "You made me the best."

     He kissed me again, but this time harder and deeper. I wrapped my hands around his neck and he placed his on my hips. He stuck his tongue in my mouth, making the kiss deeper. "Promise never to leave me," he said parting the kiss. "Promise. I have no reason to leave you," I smiled.
