By the time I woke up, mom was already gone. Who knows where she went.
Austin and I started packing. Austin was in charge of packing a few sodas and I was in charge of getting us both some towels.
Once we were done, we got dressed in our swimming suits and watched tv for a while.
"Beatrice, we need to leave in a few minutes. Ross should be there by then." Austin said.
"Ok, I'll be right out!" I said. He went to wait in the car while I rushed upstairs.
I put some short-shorts on over my bikini bottoms and a loose tank top on over my bikini top. I grabbed my flip flops and went outside.
"Austin, you have to sit in the back. Ross gets shotgun." I said before we left.
"Ugh." Austin groaned before climbing into the back seat.
I drove to the coffee shop to see Ross sitting on a bench, playing on his phone. He was wearing pink swimming trunks and a loose gray t-shirt. I honked the horn.
He looked over, waved, and ran to the car. He got into the passengers seat and I drove off.
"Ok, Ross, this is my brother Austin. Austin, Ross." I introduced them.
"Hey, Austin." Ross said.
"Uh.... Hi." Austin said.
"We packed a couple sodas. You can help yourself, they are in the back seat. They should have drinks at the party, too. We just packed them in case." I told Ross.
"Ok, thanks." Ross said.
After a long, awkward ride, we finally arrived to my cousins house. We all got out.
"You guys can leave your shirts in the car. That's what I'm doing." I said, taking off my over shirt and shorts.
Ross and Austin did the same. When we were don't, I locked the car and we headed to their back yard.
Austin ran and jumped in the pool. I just couldn't take my eyes off of Ross.
He looked over to me for the first time since we got out of the car.
"Shit." He exhaled.
"What?" I asked.
"Just... You. You're hot." Ross said.
"Hey Beatrice!" My cousin, Anne, called, interrupting us.
"Hey Anne! Great party!" I said.
"Glad you like it! Who's the eye candy?" She asked, coming over to Ross and I.
"This is Ross." I said, grabbing his arm. She can't steal him from me.
"Well hey there Ross. Are you guys together?" Anne asked. She could never stay out of anyone's business.
"We're together, but together together." I said. Ross looked at me with a confused expression.
"Fair enough. Well have fun!" Anne said, leaving us alone.
"Uh... What did you mean by together?" Ross asked me.
"I mean...... Like, we came together, but we're not actually, officially together. I guess." I explained.
"Um.... Ok." Ross said.
We were walking towards the pool and set our towels down beside Austin's.
I stuck my foot in the water. It was perfect. Not too cold.
"Jump in together?" I asked Ross, holding out my hand. He took it, and we jumped in together.
