BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Ugh..." I groaned as my alarm woke me up at an unbelievably early time: 10 a.m. Why was I so tired? Last night... Oh yeah. The previous night I had stayed up watching movies with Natsu at his house.
Natsu...

I had almost forgotten. I was the new servant for the pink-haired idiot. I sighed. I got out of my bed and shivered. I really wanted to stay under my warm blankets, but I knew that I had to go to work. After all, I would get to see Natsu again while being paid. As awkward as the thought of it seemed yesterday, I realized now that I would be able to support my family by doing something I wanted to do anyway, and it didn't seem bad at all. Maybe it would even be fun.

After getting dressed, I slipped downstairs as quietly as I could so as to not wake my family. I ate breakfast silently and put the dishes away before pulling on my old black jacket and heading out the door. As I walked to Natsu's mansion, I looked at the beautiful scenery. Everything was covered in a blanket of white, and I felt bad walking through the snow and leaving footprints to ruin the perfection. After walking for about ten minutes, I arrived at Natsu's house. I hesitated before ringing the bell on the gate.

Here goes nothing.

"Who is this?" A voice asked me through a speaker on the outside of the gate.

"I'm Gray Fullbuster. The new employee." I replied.

"Oh. In that case, come on in." I heard a beeping noise as the gate was unlocked. Taking a deep breath, I walked through the wrought iron gate and into the Dragneel residence, where I was greeted by Lucy, the female server from yesterday.

"Hello, Gray! I'm Lucy- Wait... Aren't you the guy from yesterday?" She looked at me curiously.

"Uh, hi Lucy. Yes, I am, but I also work here now."

"Okay, well, the master seemed to like you yesterday, so you should do just fine here." She smiled brightly, which I found to be mildly annoying. I've never been a morning person, but she obviously was.

"Hey, Lucy? Is that new guy here yet?" Natsu yelled from upstairs.

"Yes, sir. He's here." Lucy said back.

"Okay cool. Can you bring him up here? Thanks." Lucy looked at me.

"Go on up." She said.

"O-okay." I said a bit nervously. I wasn't really sure how Natsu would react to the whole servant thing. I decided to just go upstairs and hope for the best. I ran up the stairs quite loudly, but then wondered if that was the polite thing to do.

Will I have to always wonder what the polite thing to do is now?

This job might be harder than I thought.

At the top of the stairwell, there was a door that I assumed to be Natsu's, considering it had his name written on it in a fancy cursive script. I knocked five times.

"You can come in." I heard him say through the door. I took a deep breath before turning the handle to the door and pushing it open.
"Hi! I'm Natsu Dragnee- Gray? What are you doing here?" He tilted his head slightly to the side and quickly ran his hand through his hair, glancing in the mirror on his wall before focusing back on me.

"Uh, I may have forgotten to mention yesterday that I'm your new servant?" I said it more as a question than an answer to his question.

"Wait... Seriously?" He looked at me, his black eyes clouded with disbelief.

"Uh, yeah..." I said, awkwardly trailing off at the end of my sentence. There was a pause, and I got a bit scared that he might kick me out or something for not telling him. But my fears were washed away when he broke out into a huge grin and squealed.
