Living In A Lie

Chapter 3

I left for school when I woke up, I didn't get much sleep but I knew I had a big day ahead of me. I actually saw Carter and Xavier at school this time, they seemed quieter than usual.

I tried to catch up with them at lunch but they kept walking faster and ignored me. Were they mad at me? Why?

I just ate by myself, wondering what they were talking about. I had to join in, I couldn't handle it no more, I needed to know what my two best friends were up to.

I walked by their table and carried my stuff there, I didn't care how much I was unwanted. "Hey guys," I practically forced Carter to move down, "how ya doin'?" They both exchanged looks, Carter was gonna speak but Xavier cut him off. "Hey Alexis..." He held his sentence, "we are great!" He said in a phony voice.

"That's nice!" I said, I figured Carter realized I was lying to him yesterday. "Any plans?" I asked, I took long for them to answer. "No," Carter denied "We don't."

They both left lunch, I followed them secretly. I saw something horrible, I saw Carter and Xavier standing with a tall man surrounding this kid k
I didn't recognize.

Xavier grabbed the kid by his shirt. "Now you listen to me and you listen to me good punk!" Xavier continued, "You give us the money by Friday and Friday only! You know how much crap we went through to cause that stupid rob, you do know how much it took us to buy those bombs now you owe us, or die."

I was shocked, I couldn't face them all. Xavier was tall and strong, and Carter was short but strong, and who new what that man was capable of doing that was next to them.

I couldn't take it no more. They lied to me, wow such friends, I thought. I ran out of school because I knew I couldn't focus on anything anymore. I didn't go home, but I stopped to where the bombing took place.
