Alice's Pov:
I'm sitting in class drowning out Mrs.Cawfield's lecture something about saving water and or something I'm not really sure. But I don't care I wouldn't mind if it went on forever then I wouldn't have to go home to my parents fighting. We used to be a happy family just me, my mom, and my dad but now it's just fighting. My mom wants a divorce but my dad thing they can "work through it" but he knows they can't. I look up at the clock 5 minute tell the bell if only it was longer, anything that will keep me away from home and the fighting.
The bell rings cutting Mrs. Cawfield short and everyone starts rushing out of the classroom but I slowly start packing up taking as long as I can. I walk out of school to the parking lot where everyone is talking with their friends and I slowly start walking home. I only live about a half mile away from school in an apartment complex. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to walk home but if I walk really slowly it takes me 30. I today I really dread coming home.
When I get home I can already hear my parents yelling and try to quietly make it to my room without being seen but of course my mom sees me and say "Alice we need to talk about your dad and I". I know what coming the word I have dreaded sense they started fighting. "Alice your mom and I have decided it's best if we get a divorce" my dad choked out. I always knew this was coming but I didn't realize how hard it would hurt hearing those words come out of my dads mouth. I couldn't bear it, I ran up to my room and slammed the door fell on to my bed and starting crying the only thing I could think of doing.
A little bit later my mom came into my room she whispered "Honey you and I are going to move the California. I know it's hard but I already have a house we are going to rent for a while and my boss is setting me up with a job down their. We are leaving in two days you need to have your thing packed by Monday morning." Then my mom left shutting my door I didn't know what to think or do. Moving to California... WHAT! I couldn't believe this was happing. I curled up in bed and cried my self to sleep.
