"Destan! You certainly have a good taste in women like Kai does!"

"Well my taste is impeccable."

"Kai!"

"Shut your mouth Morgan," a man muttered, which sounded strangely familiar to her muffled ears.

"Hey! Don't be so cruel to Morgan!"

With a groan Ace sat up, clutching the side of her throbbing head, "What the heck it going on?" she grumbled.

"I was hoping you could tell me that," a male voice said.

"What?" she said, blinking the glare of the sun away.

Clinging to the edge of the boat was the man she had started to hate. His long, white hair was wet, clinging to his broad shoulders. Beside him was another man whose hair was so red it reminded her of blood. On the other side was a handsome man with dark hair and emerald irises. To her they seemed normal, except for the other two that clung to the edge.

A woman whose hair was dark as night and grey eyes that reminded her of stormy skies. However what caught her attention the most was the scales that framed her temples and slender shoulders. The other person beside her was a peculiar looking man with seaweed sowed through his dark hair and his eyes...

His eyes resembled to those of a cat.

"Hey there," the cat eyed man said.

"Hi," she said, her voice coming out like a mouse's squeak.

"What's your name?" the woman said, a hint of something soft in her eyes.

"Aceso Valentine but people call me Ace," she murmured, her fingers nervously twirled the ring around her forefinger.

"Hello Ace. Do you know what's happened within the last hours?"

Ace glared at the white haired man, "That asshole kidnapped me."

The white haired man's brows furrowed in confusion, "Asshole?"

The grey eyed woman rolled her eyes, "It's a derogatory term for someone who is irritating."

He frowned, "I am not irritating."

Ace huffed and rolled her own eyes, "Look guys. I really would like to go home now."

"I'm sorry but we can't let you do that," the green eyed man said.

She felt her heart skid to stop and drop to her stomach, "What do you mean?"

The woman's gaze held a hint of softness when the green eyed man spoke, "You have seen our kind. You've seen Ren and Morgan's appearances, we cannot release you."

"No!" she exclaimed angrily, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks, "I have to go back! I'm almost... My family..." she sobbed, "I promise not to tell anyone."

"I'm sorry, but we cannot let you do that."

Ace's anger bubbled to the surface, "How dare you! You don't know what it feels like to be told that you'll never see your family again!" she yelled, her hands clenched into fists, ready to break the green eyed god's nose.

"I wouldn't do that," the red head said testily, his spear raised in a threatening position.

"What? He can't fight his own battles?" Ace taunted.

"He can," the woman said as she pulled herself into the lifeboat, exposing the long, beautiful tail attached to her slender body.

Ace nearly choked, "Holy shit, you're a mermaid."

Her brows furrowed, "I thought you already figured it out."

Ace bit her lip, "Well I knew that guy had strange posterior," she spoke pointing at the white haired man.

"Destan?" the red head said, "His posterior seems normal to me."

"Atlantis!" the man with the seaweed hair whined with the hint of jealousy in his voice.

The male blushed as red as his hair, "I'm sorry," he mumbled.

Ace would have thought all of this funny if it weren't that fact that she'll never be able to return home again.

"Enough!" she exclaimed, "All I want is to go home!"

"Demanding," Destan muttered.

"We'll take you to the island," was what the men stated before sinking beneath the waves and tugging her lifeboat, leaving her with the emerald mermaid.

"My name is Ren," she said.

"Ace," she mumbled, crossing her arms, tears spilling down her cheeks in defeat.

Soft hands cupped her cheeks, "Don't cry. If it means anything, they're very kind."

"How would you know?" she growled, pulling away from Ren's grasp, "You're not human, you don't know what it's like to be forced to leave everything behind!"

A shadow passed through Ren's delicate features before she spoke in a soft tone, "No, I suppose not."

Cassio wiggled his body as he swam through the corals, the tune of the human world humming through his bright body.

"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard," he murmured before stopping.

What's a milkshake? he thought, stopping for a moment before shrugging it off. He would ask Ren later.

"Damn right its better than yours," he hummed quietly before stopping as his eyes took in the movement of another mer.

Curious, he followed the mer, passing through the Blue Coral to a desolate and barren land with a few corals clinging to life. Shivers went down his spine, dimming the light around him.

The mer slipped into a dark cave, leaving Cassio unsure if he should follow the stranger or not.
Quietly he pressed his sensitive ears to the cave walls, voices vibrating through the rock.

"It seems our plan has failed and the Emerald King has planned to marry," the figure murmured looking into the magical looking glass.

"Nonsense. It's just a minor bump. Go to your kingdom, we're moving to phase two."

"Yes my lord," the figure murmured and left the cave, a trail of black ink leaving his form.

Cassio had to admit, he couldn't see the figure's face but his peculiar looking tail reminded him of someone he knew.

The light faery trembled with fear, he had to warn his master.
