"Rolo!" I snapped awake scanned the room. Then I realized I was not in a room. I was in a moving train.

The side door of the train was open, which showed the speeding landscape. Mountains and grass flew by at an alarming rate as the train zoomed forward.

I saw Khole looking out the door in a crouched position.

"Hurry," she shouted, "We need to jump pretty soon." I stood up and walked to the open door.

"I'm jumping off of this?" I yelled over the loud roar of the vehicle.

"Roll when you get off. Don't stick your hands out in front of you. Jump when I say so!"

I rubbed my eyes and looked out to the horizon. It looked to be about mid morning.
The train began to slow a little, and we came to a patch of long grass, and some wildflowers sticking up. It was pretty, but then I realized I had to jump into it.

A hand was placed on my back, and then Khole shouted.

"Go!" I jumped off and landed painfully on my side. I was about to shout when I felt Khole's warm hand clamp over my mouth, shushing me.

"Patrols," she whispered. And then I heard engines in the distance.

About five minutes later, after the engines had died down, we stood up and looked around. The meadow we were in was peaceful, and we could see a small city on a hill in the distance.

"That's where Jo lives. We'll have to be careful entering there. They are way more strict about uniforms and such.

I nodded and we trekked forward through the peaceful field of wildflowers and long grass.

We neared the city and Khole got out Jo's address.

"Block five. Right by city center."

We walked through dark alleys, and through bust streets, making threatening looks. Khole had her bandanna over her mouth and nose. I had mine the same. We strolled down the street, civilians giving us disapproving looks, yet some gave us knowing looks, and one even stopped us and gave us a code. Khole shook her head and walked away. We finally made it to block five, then to apartment 42.

Khole banged on the door and waited for an answer. We heard footsteps and then the door opened a bit, then opened fully.

I saw a girl with dirty blonde hair down in a braid, wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans. She scanned the hallways then pulled Khole and me in.

"We need somewhere to stay," Khole remarked as the door was shutting.

"You can't stay here," the girl, who I am assuming is Jo, said.  I saw Khole's eyes flickered red. "What I mean is none of us can. We've been discovered."

Khole shook her head then landed on the sofa behind her. Just then a loud sound echoed through the apartment. Khole's hands lit up, and her eyes turned orange. We heard a shout from the kitchen.

"It's just me, Liz!" Khole put out her hands as a figure moved in from the kitchen. She had blonde hair, like really blonde, cut short. She also had piercing blue eyes. She wore black cargo pants and a navy blue top.

"Who's this Reg?" the Liz girl remarked gesturing to me.

"That's Rolo," Khole stated. I sat down next to her on the couch. "And he isn't a Reg."

Liz looked interested now. Jo looked surprised, but not by much.

"Tell 'em what you've got," Khole whispered, elbowing me softly.
