*The Wedding*
I'm standing next to my best friend, and god mother to my children on her wedding day as her maid of honor, looking across the isle at my fiancée as the best man and I cannot help but smile. Since the day I introduced them, I knew they would end up here together. They instantly clicked and sparks were flying everywhere. Two of my best friends are about to become one. Kaylin looks beyond beautiful in her strapless tulle ball gown, that had a beaded belt. Cameron and I's two year old daughter, Katrina, is their flower girl and her twin brother Connor is the ring barer. She has on a mini version of the bridesmaid's dresses and he is wearing the same tux as the groomsmen. The ceremony has started and I instantly tear up from happiness. They wrote their own vows and they are about to be said....
"I, Timothy, take you, Kaylin, to be my partner and love of my life, loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know. I eagerly anticipate the chance to grow together, getting to know the woman you will become. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. And I will fall more in love with you, a little more every day. I promise to love and cherish you through whatever life may bring us. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live. "
After he finished, I started crying instantly. I've never seen this side of him before, I could never imagine him being like this. Now I understand everything Kaylin use to say about him having two sides. Now it's time for Kaylin's vows to be said..
"I, Kaylin, take you, Timothy, to be my friend, my lover, the father of my children and my husband. I will be yours in times of plenty and in times of want, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joy and in times of sorrow, in times of failure and in times of tremendous success. I promise to cherish and respect you, to care and protect you, to comfort and encourage you, and stay with you, for all eternity."
She started tearing up when she finished, then after a few more minutes we heard those words we all were there to hear;
"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss you bride.......I am honored to say this, here, for the first time is Mr. And Mrs. Timothy Rasmussen!"
The reception was perfect, exactly how me and Kaylin planned it to be. Their first dance was to Sunday Morning by Maroon Five, but it performed by Cameron, Tyler and Danny. Everyone had an amazing time, and it eventually came to an end. I couldn't be happier for them, they deserve this day.
I've come to the conclusion that we all have that one person who is your "mirror image" and completes you. Mine is Cameron, Kaylin's is Timmy, Katie's is Justin, and Emily's is Tyler.
These people are my best friends, and even though our lives may go down separate roads, we will always end up at the same place together; everyone just takes different detours in this crazy thing we call life.
