You woke up yet again in the hospital bed, the bright, artificial lights stinging your eyes.
"Mornin'", he was up, out of his bed, sitting in the chair beside you.
You couldn't help but chuckle.
"Why are you up, Link?"
He beamed at the use of his name, "Well I just can't stay away from something so beautiful, miss."
You laughed again, then heard the fast steps of a nurse echoing from the hallway into your room.
"Excuse me, um, Charles? Charles L. Neal?"
He looked towards the door, a goofy grin plastered on his face, "That's me."
"Oh yes," the nurse smiled,
"someone who claims to be your wife has requested to see you, isn't that grand? Should I send her up right away? Oh, this will be quiet the reunion."
He was silent, the gleeful look that had once occupied his face faded away.
"Wife?" He didn't seem confused but enraged.
No one moved.
The nurse decided to speak up. She cleared her throat.
"Yes, she goes by the name of, uh, Christy. Christy Neal."
You tried to study his face.
"Please," he talked quietly and seemed taken aback, but also furious,
"Send her away. Please."
The nurse seemed surprised as well, "Oh...Okay then"
"Link?" You tried to get him to talk to you.
"Link?" You tried again, "Link is something wrong?"
He was staring off but when he came to his face morphed back into his strange smirk.
He looked over at you.
"Nope, just someone who, who..." he was struggling to find the correct words.
"It's okay," you said.
He looked back at you for a second, then back at the door.
And in that second, you could see that his smile wasn't at all genuine.
(A/N howdy everyone. A mighty fine chapter six for you. Sorry for making Christy a part of the conflict but I'm just writing this as I go, I don't have an outline or a way I want this story to play out or anything. I just though it would be an interesting touch so I could end TH chapter on something. I dunno. Till next time, Ariel)
