"That debt of yours...how much is it."
I shook my head as I replayed the scene over again in my head. After telling him the amount I had to pay back, he seemed to relax.
"What? Are you going to pay my debt for me?" I said with a shaky laugh. Tears were still streaming down my cheeks in uncontrollable streaks. Jihoon looked away and kicked at the floor. I guess it wasn't funny to him.
"Well I-" He began, but I quickly cut him off in my embarrassed state.
"I was just joking. But thanks anyways. For saving me and for talking to me. Thanks."
Lee Jihoon. I remember Inha talking about his family once. His dad was this super well-known politician while his mom was somewhere in South America curing some rare disease caused by mosquitoes. Most of the time when Inha talked about this family, she sighed and shook her head a lot. I guess he had family issues too.
When I walked into my room, Nana was already laying in bed.
"There you are! Fashionably late as always." She said, sitting up abruptly. Her eyes widened when she saw the clothes I was wearing and my swollen face. "Jesus! You look like crap."
"Thanks." I said dryly as I tried taking off the skintight white dress. The zipper broke so I turned to my trusty friend Mr. Scissors. Goodbye forever horrible dress!
Thankfully, the owner was very understanding. He was furious that Rat Man had broken the "no touching" policy and apologized for causing me distress. I was just glad that everything was over. As short as it was, I knew for a fact I wasn't going to miss the entertainment business. After pulling on a pair of sweatpants and a loose hoodie, I turned to find Nana still gaping at my appearance.
"Did you get hit by a truck?" She asked. I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Nana, didn't you say you wanted to show me something you bought?" I asked in an attempt to change the subject. After knowing Nana for about five days now, I found out that if you ever needed to distract her you just needed to bring up shopping. Besides her family owning several large department stores in Korea, Nana was also thinking of launching her own fashion line. With her crush on Hansol and similar dream, it seemed a bit cliche that she and Hyemi were rivals.
"Sneaky Eunji, very sneaky." Nana said, narrowing her eyes as well. "But good plan because look what I made!" She shrieked happily while shoving a sparkly red article of clothing in my face.
"You made a skirt?" I asked, turning it around in my hands. I was impressed that Nana actually did something productive today. Usually she would sit in our room after school and stalk Hansol on the internet while I was at work. Since it was nearing the holidays, she's been trying to search for the perfect gift for him. Nana let out a sarcastic laugh at my comment.
"That's a dress." She deadpanned. My mouth dropped open as I looked at the article of clothing again. Yeah, if I wore this I would definitely flash someone every time I took a step.
"Don't worry, I made you one too." Nana fished out another dress - this one brown - and threw it at me. I caught it easily and smoothed it out to reveal a skimpy reindeer dress. No.
"Yes." Nana nodded furiously as she pulled at my sweatpants.
"HOE DON'T DO IT!" I screeched as I swatted at her grabby hands. Nana glared at me.
"What did you just call me?" I nearly fell over in shock.
Did I just say that out loud?
