Lauren's Point of View
Stepping into the grounds of University College London, I was met with a wave of anxiety. What can I expect from here? I don't really know. As this is one of the top colleges here in London, the building itself intimidates me.
"Laur!" A voice called from behind.
"Emma!" I ran to hug her.
"It's your first day here, how are you holding up?" Emma asked.
"It's dandy. I mean, who wouldn't want to come here? It's one of the best colleges over here in London. But to be honest, I'm afraid. Like what can I expect here? I honestly hope that I would not fail my classes." I laughed.
"Aw come on Lauren! You know that you topped every class in your previous school. You'll be fine. As for what you can expect, I promise this will be fun!" Emma joked before continuing. "Let me show you around here yea? But let's get your schedule." She tugged at the sleeves of my blouse.
Did I forget to introduce you to Emma? Well, she is a year older than me which means she's 20 this year. We grew up together since young and since I am the only child in the family, I've always treated her as my older sister. Due to her attending college here in London, we didn't see each other as often for a year. God, I missed her so much. Being in Lincoln while she is in London didn't make it easier. I was upset when she left me because that's like being away from my closest companion.
Well, let's talk about my family for a bit. I was brought up single handed by my mother, Clara. My father, well he passed away due to an accident and since then we've never brought him up. I love my mother the most. She never fails to be there for me and support me throughout my entire life. I've always adored art since I was young and she would never fail to compliment me on my art although I know they are not perfect as Van Gogh's.
I know I had to make my mother proud, and I worked so hard for my finals to get to where I am now, a prestigious school. I am thankful for everything she has done for me.
Back to the topic, Emma literally gave me a tour around the school including the washrooms.
"Lauren, well later on at 9 you have your Psychology lecture. Your lecturer is Ms Mavis! Oh I swear she can be an utter bitch! I had her once when our teacher was sick, and she literally threw out a student when he pointed a middle finger at her. Surprisingly she could see from so high up. But I'm sure you will be fine since you are the teacher's pet." Emma laughed.
"Sure thing." I smiled.
"So some pointers, do not, I mean, do not meddle with Abi-tchgail and Connor. They are absolutely the worst couple in the entire college. They are in my batch and I swear nothing good comes out of befriending them. Connor is fine, I mean he's cool guy, but Abigail is a bitch. Connor literally follows her and listens to her. She literally picks on everyone including the cockroaches if they get in her way. I don't get why Connor still wants to be with her. Sometimes he is mean as hell, but other times she is just a follower of Abi. Connor hates nerdy and hardworking girls like you so I think that you should be safe from his attention. Just cut down a bit of your sassy-ness, you'll be fine. Okay, I'm rambling. I'll walk you over to the lecture room now but I have to go to the washroom real quick so wait a second okay? Don't run off! I want to see Miss Mavis blowing up in front of someone. Although it means that I have to sneak in into the lecture room." She ran to the washroom.
"Hey I'm not a nerd! I just happen to like reading books!" I shouted.
Along the hallways of the college, I saw multiple posters of different clubs and societies they offer here. Cheerleading hmmm, not my cup of tea. Art club...yes they are definitely my thing! I was taken away from my thoughts when someone bumped into me.
