Heart Attack

I had my body pressed against an oak tree. One hand was pressed against the gaping wound slashed across my arm, as my other hand gripped into the tree bark. The tears stung my eyes as they slowly began to trickle down my cheeks. A foggy mist covered the damp floor of the dark forest. The sky now a dusky gray and the trees looked like crooked hands trying to grasp at me. The smell of smoke filled up my lungs, making my breathing difficult. I didn't know what I was running from, but I was terrified. My legs wobbled intensively, constant shivers ripped up my spine from the harsh, cold winds. My heart was beating rapidly through my chest you could probably hear it from a mile away. Soon I heard my name being called in the distance. "Ava!" the voice screeched. I could hear their feet crumple on the fallen twigs and leaves from the trees above. "Ava!" their voice hollered once more. Then my mouth opened almost forcefully and I screamed back. "Chresanto, I'm over here." I now heard his presence close to the tree I was using to hold my exhausted body up. "It's okay. I'm right here." the deep voice spoke soothingly. I recognized Chresanto's voice and my tense muscles soon relaxed. That's when the same horrifying feeling that I felt moments ago rushed over my body. I stared down at the forest ground and realized an enormous shadow was casted exactly where Chresanto should've stood. But all I know is, that isn't the shape of a shadow that belongs to a 16 year old boy...

This is my very first story on Wattpad, but not the first story I have ever
