"Al, this is boring." You said after you blew a few bubbles.
"No, you're jus' too mature." He smiled and blew a dozen of tiny bubbles, looking at the floating objects with fascination.
You sighed and looked down at your hands holding the container of soap and the small wand, letting your feet hang off the edge of the roof. Alex looked over at you and nudged you gently.
"Yer alrigh' there, Mia?" He asked.
"Al, how do you find th' simplest things so fun? How are you always so 'appy?"
Alex chuckled and looked down at his feet. "Well, whot do you find fun?" He looked straight into your eyes. "Realleh, realleh fun?"
You thought for a bit and smiled. "The beach. Or when we chill at my house, or yours."
He smiled and stood up, offering his hand out. "In we go, 'en!"
You gripped his hand and he helped you get on your feet. You both climbed back through the window and into Alex's room. He shut the window closed after you both were inside and he lied down on his bed. "Now wha'?" He asked.
You jumped on Alex's bed and stuck up both fists. "Lets wrestle!"
"Realleh? You wanna make the mistake of wrestlin' me?" Alex sat up and smirked, raising an eyebrow. "Are ye' positive you wanna be beaten?"
"Pft, stop bein' so full of yerself and get up." You laughed and stood up on his bed.
Alex stood up and held up both his fists (even though he'd never hit you unless it was a friendly smack on the bum). You chuckled and got into position.
"On th' count of three. One... T-" Alex was interrupted by you shoving him off the bed and pinning him on the floor. "Ow! Jeez, Mia! I didn't even finish countin', for fuck sake!"
You just laughed and continued to hold his wrists down to the floor.
"Mia let go! Tha's cheatin'!" Alex whined and giggled.
"What? Can't push me off?" You smirked and stuck your tongue out.
"Why would I do tha'?!" Alex shouted softly.
"Because we're wrestling! Don't go easy on me jus' because I'm a girl, mate!"
Alex smirked and flipped you over, Alex now on top of you and he was pinning your wrists down against the floor. You struggled to set yourself free from his grip.
"Al! What the fuck, I was winning!"
"Well, no' anymore, are ye'?" He smirked and continued to keep you pinned down.
"Ow, Alex! My wrists hurt!" You whimpered softly, only faking it so Alex would pity you and you could pin him back down.
"Count to ten, an' I win an' I'll release."
"Seriously, Alex! They hurt!" You faked a small cry.
"Mia, you're a load o' bollocks! It's been way longer than ten seconds, so I win." He laughed and slowly let go.
Just as Alex began to walk, you gripped onto his left ankle and you pulled it towards you.
"Ah!" Alex shrieked as he tripped and fell.
You climbed on top of Alex and straddled him, pinning his arms down and smirking. Alex struggled to get you off, not because you were heavy, but because you had pinned his arms and tried to put all your weight on him to make it more difficult.
"I am not losing a wrestling match to you!" Alex laughed and continued to wriggle himself until he got tired and gave up.
"Who wins?" You raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"'M not admitting defeat." He smirked.
"Say it." You demanded.
"Uh-uh." He turned his head side to side gently to indicate 'no'.
"Say it!"
"I refuse!" Alex smirked and kept his mouth shut.
You stared down at Alex and he stared up at you. He was wearing that stupid (but handsome and a bit sexy) smirk on his face. You stared into dark chocolate brown eyes that you had just realized were one of the most mesmerizing objects you've ever gazed upon. You continued to stare, until you heard a voice.
"Mia... Mia." Alex said softly. "Mia!" He finally snapped.
You shook your head a bit and your eyes widened. "Hm?"
"You've been starin' at me fer a while now. Is there summat on me face?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Oh! Errr... sorreh." You quickly got off. "I've jus' remembered I've got to go 'ome and do summat. I'll see you later." You waved before quickly walking downstairs and out of his house, walking down the street to yours.
Once you got home, you turned the shower water on and took a nice, hot and relaxing shower. All of a sudden, Alex popped into your head as you showered and you couldn't help but blush.
Why was he all of a sudden so attractive to you? Maybe you hadn't realized this because he was your best friend, not someone that you thought was cute or handsome. You had never seen Alex like that. Not since you were ten.
*Flashback 6 years back*
"Ah!" You screamed softly when the boy named Richard pushed you, causing you to fall on your bum.
"What're ye' gonna do about it, lassie?" Richard smirked, his posse standing behind him, laughing at you.
You began to cry tears of embarrassment, wiping them and hiding your glowing face with your small hands.
"Why're ye' cryin'? Are you a wee babeh?" Richard laughed.
"Hey! Leave 'er alone!" Alex shouted as he walked over to you and stood in front of you, up in Richard's face.
"Or else wha'? You need to protect 'er from everythin'?"
Alex could hear your cries and it hurt him deeply for a ten year old. He shoved Richard back, causing him to fall back.
"It doesn't feel good, does it? Now please leave Mia alone." He turned to help you up and you both sat down on a bench, Alex letting you use his sweater to wipe your tears.
"Don't let people push yer around like tha', Mia." He smiled afterwards, causing you to smile. "There ya go! Be 'appy!" He giggled.
And that was when you realized you had a crush on your best friend, Alex.
Unfortunately, you had gotten over it due to Alex getting girlfriends in the past, but deep inside you, there were still feelings for him.
