Chapter 2

She stood, peeking through the crack into the mysterious place, there were 4 rows of laptops in semi circle shape, there were also a number of hallways leading out of the large room, from what she could see there were 3, it was lit and looked like some cia operation room based off the movies she'd seen, but the room was empty

She put her fingers through the crack, about to start pushing the door open more but 3 guys walked in from the hallway on the left, two in well pressed suits, the other in jeans and a tee shirt, she tucked away back behind the door, thankful she hadn't opened it yet

"Listen, the rogue agent was a previous guardian, with almost top clearance, he knows our ways, tactics, weapons, procedure, and location, he's one of the biggest current threats, you see him you take him out, he's looking for this flash drive", he held up a flash drive then put it in a desk drawer, " it has the locations of the other gaurdians. There's no such thing as to cautious and remember under no circumstance should the drive leave the physilety" the man with dark brown hair in the navy blue suit said, he then motioned for them to follow and lead them out of the room

Every neuron in her brain was telling her to leave but the curiosity pushed her forward, she looked around the room one last time before pushing the door open just enough for her to fit through, she pulled her beanie over her forehead more and kept her head down as she squeezed through before she could regret it

She walked over to the desk she saw the man with dark hair place the drive, opened the drawer, pulled it out, and put it in her pocket.

She closed the drawer and walked over to the hallway opposite from her across the room, there were Windows lining the wall, she squatted and slid under it. She then peeked over it just enough to see.

There was a cafeteria looking room, long tables, a lot of people in there eating, all wear variations of the same outfit.

She crawled to the next window and peered in,

This room had wrestling mats lining the floor, half rubber dummies in a line on one side and a rack of weights on the other.

She was about to crawl to the next window but she heard footsteps from behind the door at the end of the hallway, she crawled as quickly as she could out of the hallway then stood and ran to the elevator, she closed the door other than her sliver of looking space just in time,

She focused on her nerves and breathing, attempting to slow them and be as quiet as possible.

She saw an older man wearing a suit come in with a younger girl, probably 20ish, wearing what the cafeteria people were all wearing.

She pulled out her iPhone, put it up to the crack and started recording a video of the room and two occupants.

"We've noticed your stead improvement over the last year and you final test was a success, because you eliminated without questions and efficient, you are being promoted from recruit to agent, congratulations. However, because you have such a cool demeanor and don't ask questions we've decided to turn you into a cleaner versus field, go see Anne for details" the old man said

"Yes sir" was all the girl said before turning and walking out, as soon as she was gone he returned to his thoughts

"Alright, let's check on the flash drive" he said to himself

He walked to the drawer and opened it to find it empty

"Shit! Micheal better pray on his life Owen didn't take it! We WILL find it" he said before rushing out

Callan stopped recording and scrambled up the shaft, ran across the patio, she didn't care who saw currently, slid through the fence the walked as quickly as she could without running to her car.

Again she questioned herself, "what is on the flash drive and what the hell did I get myself into?"
