"New Assignment"

-Phoenix's POV-

You may or may not be wondering what I'm doing right now so let me explain, I am running from a Dobble.

A Dobble is like an eagle with two heads, I don't know why we named it a Dobble but we did.

Anyway I'm on the planet "Zoru" one of the least inhabited planets of all the sectors known to Dimension Jumpers.

Not many Jumpers go here to help.

Let me explain myself, I am a high ranking officer of the Dimension Jumper. I was looking through the files of things that needed help and saw this one. It was in a pile with some other files covered in dust with a big stamp on it saying "Dangerous, Do not Take this case". So me being me grabbed it and dimension jumped all the way here. And me being me didn't read the file until I got here.

So because I have so much bad luck, I dimension jumped and landed on a Dobble nest. And let me tell you she was not pleased.

So, here I am. Running for my life trying to read this file while running.

As I am running I see a tree branch sticking out of a mountain so I did what any officer would do and jumped for it. As I grabbed it I swung around and landed on the back of Momma Dobble.

Her back was so feathery. But as I looked up, as soon as I saw the double heads I wanted to get off. But I knew if I did I would have no way to stop this Dobble from running after me. I was stopped from my train of thought by a beeping sound coming from my communicator. I grabbed it and listened to the message. It began with crackling but smoothed out in the end, "P-ph-hoe-e-n-nix r-ret-ur-n back to main planet now. I repeat return now. This is general Ming, I request that you return to main planet now"

You see none of the generals like me that much, I'm always off doing something stupid. So yeah, after that transmission I looked up to the double suns in the sky and whispered "now why in hell would I go back?" Then I remembered I forgot my back pack at the main planet. So why not go now.

I got off the Dobble and slowly walked away from it with my hands up. As soon as the Dobble was out of sight I turned around and began to think of our main planet, as I did so a portal opened up and I stepped through it. When I enter I saw many colours. Like in one of those lamps that have the different colour goo.

As soon as I reached the other side, I landed right in the middle of a meeting. When I appeared all heads turned to me. The head of the meeting began to talk just as I finished my train of thought.

"Phoenix how nice of you to join us"

"We'll, it's not a pleasure to be here" I replied with a sly smile.

"Continuing of before I was so rudely interrupted" he began "we were talking about assignments. Like I was saying before, this is an assignment where none of the dimension jumpers have ever gone before. It's a very dangerous task because they judge people, creatures anything really. We are only sending one person in. And I believe we have chosen who we want to go already and that is why your here Phoenix-" I cut Ming off before he could continue.

"So who are you sending in because I have work to finish" I said

"YOU ARE" the whole room shouted at me. I stood there stunned for a second. Then I replied "WHAT!" I know I'm over reacting but to put me in such a dangerous mission I would want to go in is absurd, like really how would they know I love danger. I thought slyly.

"You are going on this mission weather you like it or not"

"Alright. Where am I going?"

"Sector 0002, also known as Earth" Ming replied. I stood there frozen I couldn't say anything, earth was the most dangerous planets. If you went there you most likely won't come back. We lost 10 dimension jumpers to earth, they never returned.

"Phoenix, you are the most experienced officer and most daring officer we have ever had. If we didn't have you. Lots of distress calls would not have been answered. This distress call is the most dangerous one yet no one but you can do it will you do this?"

"I'll do it."
