Kori's P.O.V
Kayla and I sat there in one of the empty rooms upstairs, resisting to go downstairs. Our family was having a welcome home party for Ashton, Kayla's brother, and the rest of the band. and I mean I'm not saying we don't like Ashton, we just don't like his bandmates. We decided to play the music that we like on and just sit there listening to the conversations people were having below us. We were interrupted by our mothers popping their heads into the door frame.
"You guys aren't just going to stay cooped up in this room, now come downstairs. You didn't even acknowledge the boys." My mom stammered at us.
Finally we got up from the cold hardwood floor and proceeded to walk down the stairs. The boys ran up to us saying how they missed us. Not to be mean but they weren't even gone for that long. When they were done hugging us they insisted on us meeting their friends. Kayla and I looked at each other.
"Umm, that's okay we've meet them before" Kayla spoke up looking at her hands.
They just ignored what Kayla had just said and called their friends over, and me and Kayla decided to walk away because really their friends are perverts.
We weren't the type to just walk around and indulge into conversation with others, so we had tried to sneak back up into the recording room of the studio, but that hadn't worked, as Anne, Kayla's mother stopped us mid-stair and pointed down signaling us to go back into the banquet room and to mingle.
I made my way downstairs, Kayla not moving one step.
"Kay, you'll be fine. Just stick with me, or even Ashton and the boys." I spoke. Kayla has had anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember, and I have known her since we were three, we are seventeen now, and that makes it difficult for her to talk in certain situations.
"Do you think we can stick near the boys?" Kayla asked barely at a whisper.
"Of course, now let's get moving!" I smiled. She slowly made her way down and we linked arms, walking through the crowds and groups of people surrounding us.
We had been scoping for the boys for a while, probably around 4-5 minutes, soon to find they were just sitting on the couches in the lounge room. They weren't even being social at a party for them?
Kayla had quickly knocked on the glass door and put her hand into the other looking down. A guy with a dirty blonde quiff and ocean blue eyes looked towards the door and motioned us inside. We walked into the spacious room and sat down on an unoccupied loveseat.
"So, I have a quick question, I know you; you're Kori," Michael pointed at me, "But who are you?" he pointed at Kayla.
