Chapter 8

"Goodbye dad, I love you"

"Aria, Mike, are you guys okay?" Ezra asked as he looked to Mike's worried face

"No, we're not" I wishpered and the only thing Mike could do was cry.

"we have to find mom" Mike suddenly said as he looked to Ezra and me.

"And we're gonna find her Mike, I promise" I said as I grabbed Mike's shaky hand. Mike just looked at me and gave me a little smile.

"Thank you Aria"

"For what?"

"For being strong when I couldn't" Mike said as he wiped away his last tear. I just smiled at him and then we continued to walk.

"We have not much time left" I said as the water was already touching my feet, which meant it was already up to Ezra's knees. We ran towards the middle of the deck, because there was the least amount of water.

"ARIA! It's mom!!" Mike yelled as he pointed towards someone who was holding on to the rail of the boat, trying to not get floated away.

"Mike! It's mom!" I yelled and Mike and Ezra quickly walked towards her. We were only 10 meters away from her, untill the ground started shaking.

"MOM!" I yelled, and her head shot up when she heard my voice.

"ARIA!" Mom yelled, but then the ground started shaking even more which caused Mike to trip. He fell against Ezra, and he lost his balance too. The three of us fell to the ground, and Mike and Ezra quickly grabbed the railing of the boat so they wouldn't float away, but I was too slow.

"EZRA! HELP!" I yelled, and just before I fell into the ocean, I felt an strong arm grab around my waist.

"I got you" Ezra wishpered and pressed an kiss onto my head.

"You got me" I smiled. Mike, Ezra, me and a lot other people were holding onto the rail of the boat, and then a huge fracture appeared in the boat, which seperated Ezra, Mike and me from Ella.

"MOM!" I yelled, and the last thing I saw from her, was her mouthing:

"I love you"

The whole boat broke in two pieces, and both the pieces started to sink even deeper. Ezra, Mike and me held onto the railing for as long as possible, untill our bodies hit the ice cold water and after a few minutes the boat had dissapeared. It sank into the water. Screaming and crying people everywhere, floating bodies, people searching for their family, and so did we. Looking for mom. I tried to swim, but the water was way too cold, and my leg was still hurting and bleeding. Tears threatened to spill from my eyes, but I tried to stay strong.

"Are you both okay?" Ezra asked as he looked at Mike and me.

"Yes" Mike quickly responded

"Yes" I tried to say, but I winced in pain and a tear escaped from my eye.

"No you're not" Ezra said with an worried expression on his face.

"It's just, my leg" I shivered. Ezra just looked at me and kissed me on my head, knowing that we both couldn't do anything about it.
