CHAPTER THREE

After the bell rang everyone began to exit our old, mildly dirty class room and make their way back to their houses for the weekend. I was so shocked I wasn't even sure my brain was functioning right at this point. I could not stop staring at the science teacher, no, this couldn't be right, she couldn't be the-

"Ah, hello miss Watson," she began, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Could I have a word with you up at my desk please?"

That Witch. "Uh, okay." I said. What could she possibly want from me, she had already taken my soul, no need to be greedy and suck out my happiness too. I ventured out from behind my desk and made my way from the back of the classroom up to the Witch's desk. Still not believing that Ms. Breyer could be a witch.

"I assume you've figured it out by now?" She asked contently.

"Yeah, well it wasn't that hard, your the witch how stole my soul, right?" I said narrowing my eyes.

"Hey, we made a trade remember? Your life for you soul." She said as if it was fair, what she did.

"Anyway Mae, I was just checking in on you to tell you about your mission tomorrow. Oh, and you will be assigned a partner." She said. She seemed to be mighty satisfied with her self. It was now that I noticed her features. She had long ginger hair and blue eyes, I think about it she probably dyed her hair that colour, also her figure was fit and today she wore a red blouse with a black skirt, both of which looked extremely expensive, she probably put a spell on the sales clerk or something.

"Mission?" I replied, not really knowing what she meant by that.

"Yes, I'll give you a briefing on that tomorrow." She said getting up to leave.

I hesitated. "Wait, who's my p-" I began, that was when she vanished. Just like her son had done before her.

"Damn it" I mumbled. A partner? Doesn't that mean she took someone else's soul? Who could it have been, someone in my class? Could they have also been killed by her son, Onyx? Not only was I wondering about my partner tomorrow, but there was something else that had stumped me. What if it had been no accident that I had wound up in the graveyard that night...

"Hi Mae," Morgan began, sprucing up some of the hundreds of curls that hung off her head as she walked in the entrance. "Do you want to come over for the night, to study I mean? We have a math test on Monday." She asked. Damn, that fact seemed to have slipped away from me, I also so forgot the Morgan was in my math class. I think the she's also in my multimedia class.

"Yeah, sure. But I'll have to stop at home first to grab my pyjamas. I said.

"Alright, well I'll get everything ready at my house. Be sure to bring your math stuff to compare notes, k? She said.

"Right." I said.

-----------------------

I got home to find the usual scene, my younger brother being annoying with the unnecessarily loud flat screen television and my parents having a legitimate argument over what were going to have for super. I greeted them and went on my way back to my bedroom. I didn't really go home to get pyjamas, I could have done that any time, we only live one block away from each other. The real reason went home was so that I can try out those superhuman powers Ms. Breyer said I had.

When I entered my room I seen a familiar sight, my white, though slightly gray, fluffy carpet, my dresser that held mounds of my clothing, complete with a large mirror, the pictures on the walls, my night tables, the work desk, and even my bed, that of which I was now sitting on. My family was rather wealthy but never wanted me, nor my bother, to got to a private school. "Going to public schools helps your attitude, plus you don't want to be surrounded by people that think they're better than you, do you?" That's the argument they always came up with. Funny enough, I could never find anything to counter that.

I looked in the mirror from where I was on my bed, I tried to concentrate on levitating but it didn't work. Deciding to close my eyes I tried to concentrate again. Okay, I had enough of this, nothing was happening, so I opened my eyes. I gasped. I was in midair again, just like yesterday! I lost focus when I seen my self like this and fell, I made a loud bang when I hit the floor.

"Are you okay honey?" Mom yelled seemingly worried.

As I recuperated I heard footsteps running toward my door. My mother opened the door before I could get a word out. I seen her short dirty blond hair and green eyes. She was wearing a pretty, light purple t-shirt and white nickers with sandals. She was in her early forties and looked young for her age. Now that I think about it, I think she the same age as Ms. Breyer. The brother, Andrew was beside her. He's nine. He wore his Toronto maple leafs hat, green and black Hollister tank top and cargo shorts.

"Yeah, I'm okay..." I said while rubbing my leg.

"Oh, okay. Do want to order pizza for supper?" She asked ignorant to the fact that I wouldn't be attending supper with them tonight.

"No, actually I was planing on going to Morgan's for the night" I replied.

"Alright, then tell Mrs. Gillis I said 'hello'." She finished, leaving my doorway. Andrew waved goodbye and shut my door again. Mom was so understanding, that what I loved the most about her. And Andrew, he never really talks much. Got up and sat back down on my bed and looked in the mirror, I seen my long dirty blond hair and green eyes, both of which I had inherited from my mother. I stood up, checking my self out. I still had a average sized body, if not a little less. I was truly lucky that I was able to eat what ever I wanted and still remain this size. I changed into my blue pyjama shit and blue and black plaid pyjama pants and headed off to Morgan's house.

Chapter three ending notes: I really liked writing this chapter. Stick around to find out what happens when Mae goes over to Morgan's house and who Mae's partner will be. But I'm going to take a break for a while.
