Chapter 1

"Uncle Remus! I'm going to Hogwarts!" I say, reading the letter I got in the mail.

"That's great Alice! Your father, James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, and I were all in Gryffindor. And if you get in half as much trouble as us,you are sooo grounded for the whole summer!" Uncle Remus said. Wow, I'm not going to have any fun. "And I will know, because I'm the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher." he stated proudly. He always told me tales of him and his friends 'The Marauders' about how he was the smart one, and James and my father, Sirius Black, were inseperateable and the troublemakers. And Peter, the one who always just tagged along. "Mabey you'll get along with James' boy, Harry. He's a third year by now."

"Yeah I know. You've told me millions of times. But Daddy's in Azkaban. All of the teachers apart from you are going to be all suspicious. And the students..." I trail off. "I wanna meet Daddy." I say.

"Yeah Ali, I want you to meet him, too. I miss Sirius. It's hard to believe what he did. Tell me that while we were the marauders in Hogwarts, and I would've been asking you what you've been smoking..." he says. "Okay, to Diagon Alley." he changes the subject, like he always does when we start to talk about Daddy.

We are walking down the street in London, and Uncle Remus leads me to the Leaky Cauldron, this pub that, in my opinion, is kind of grimy and gross, with all of the drunken idiots stumbling around. He ushers me through, and were facing a brick wall. He taps some bricks and the brick wall reconstructs itself into a huge archway. We step through, and there is an alley where there are tons of shops that contain the supplies needed for my first year at Hogwarts.

We finished all of my shopping, except for my wand. And a cat or something. "Okay, to Ollivander's." Uncle Remus says. I walk into the store, and there's no one inside.

"Um... Hello?" I say and some old dude comes around one of the shelfs with long, narrow boxes stacks, well more accurately thrown, apon them.

"Ah, Alice Black. Daughter of Sirius Black, criminal of Azkaban." the man says. "I wondered when I would see you here."

"I'm not really proud of who my father is. Remus Lupin is my father figure. Could you please not bring him up?" I ask. He nods.

"I'm Ollivander by the way. Let's get you a wand." he says, looking around. He comes back with a box and hands it to me. I take it. "Okay, now give it a wave!" he says excitedly, as I take the wand out. I wave it and in the direction it was pointed, a small lamp like exploded.

I ditch the wand quickly. "Oh my gosh! I'm soooo sorry!" I squeak. Ollivander laughs.

"Don't worry about it. It happens all the time." he smiles. We go through so many wands that I thought I was never going to get out of the place.

"Try this one. Willow, with a dragon heartstring." Ollivander suggests. I take it and wave it, expecting another explosion like all if the others. Gold sparks fly out of the tip. "Yes, this Is the one!" he says, sounding very chipper.

I walk out of the store looking for Uncle Remus, and I run into a boy, around thirteen, with green eyes and unkempt black hair that sticks out in all directions. "Sorry!" I squeak.

"Not a problem. I'm Harry. Harry Potter." he says.

"Hi. I'm Alice Black." I smile.

"You going to Hogwarts? I'm a third year. In Gryffindor."

"Yep. I'm a first year. I'm just looking for my Uncle Remus." I say, looking around. I see him coming this way. "oh, I see him. Mabey I'll see you at Hogwarts?" i say and walk to uncle Remus.

"I see you've met Harry. If he's as much trouble as James, stay away from him, Ali." he said sternly.

"Uncle Remus, can I get a cat or owl?" I ask, with the look that I know he can never refuse.

"Fine. Let's go. It's not fair to unleash the puppy dog look with those adorable gray eyes of yours!" he scolds me. Oh yeah. I'm that awesome.

We walk into the shop and I look around. I see an adorable white kitten that looks like a small puffball with green eyes. I scoop it up. "It's so cute!" I squeal. Uncle Remus rolls his eyes, but I can see the loving look in his eyes. I know, cus im psychic.

"You can get him." He says, slightly amused. The lady at the register told me how much my kitten was and I paid her.

We go back to Uncle Rumus' house. "Ali, I mean it. I will know if you get in trouble. I'm going to be your Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. And Professor Snape will probably go hard on you. The Marauders and Snape were sworn enemies. And I'm your guardian, Sirius is your father, and James was your Godfather. He's not going to like you. I'm telling you right now." Uncle Remus told me. I nod. I always hear about the pranks they were pulling on Snape, or 'Snivillus' as they called him. They were quite hilarious. But uncle Remus told me that one time Daddy tried to kill Snape. Quite harsh, I think.

"I kind of figured that, when you were telling me all about your pranks." I said.

"Yeah, good times..." he says, stairing off into the distance, with that michevious smile he gets when he remembers 'the good ol' days' as he calls them. "I don't want you to get into trouble Alice Sierra Black." Ooohhh when he uses my full name this is serious.

"Uncle Remus, I'm an angel!" I say, putting my hand over my heart, as if to looked shocked that he would suggest me ever stepping out of line.

"Ali, tell me that when you 'accedentally' drowned my hamster in the toilet." he stares at me.

I hold my hands up. "He needed a bath! I didn't know it would kill him! I was five!" I say.

"I miss little Hammy..." he said, wiping away an imaginary tear.

"oh by the way, I like what you named him. Very original." I say sarcastically. He sticks his tongue out at me. "Very mature. To think you'll be teaching me stuff!" I shake my head, in an ashamed manner.

"I am very smart! Way more intelligent than Padfoot..." he said. Padfoot?

"Who's Padfoot?" I ask Uncle Remus.

"Oh we all had nicknames in the Marauders. Your father was Padfoot, I was Moony, James was Prongs, and Peter Pettigrew was Wormtail." he says, amusement tinged in his voice. "We were so strange back then, but I wouldn't change anything we did. We were idiots, but I was mostly dragged into the situations, especially when Sirius had random cravings at midnight..." he trailed off. Wow. They were idiots.

"Oh. That makes sense?" I ask him and he shakes hiss head.

"yeah. We were something. Well we better get to bed. I don't want you to miss the train to Hogwarts your first year." he says ruffling my hair. I scowl at him, smoothing out my shoulder-length black hair.

"You look almost exactly like Sirius. Thats the look he gave me when I use you refuse to go on his 'Adventures'" he said, an amused twinkle in his eye. "I swear if Sirius would've been a girl, he would have looked exactly like you." he says, poking my nose as he walks into his bedroom. I sigh and get up, walking into my own room and collapsing on my bed. I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, with my puffy kitten at my side, which I still hadent named.
