"Never commit yourself to someone if there's another person in your heart as well; no one deserves that."
"You sure you doing alright?" Devon assisted Kathryn to her bedroom after finally being released from the hospital after a day.
Kathryn nodded her head, sitting up on her bed; "I'm doing fine." she assured her sister.
Devon sat next to her, moving some hair out of her face; "I heard Kit was able to visit you this afternoon; how is that little goof ball doing?"
Kathryn laughed. Out of all her friends, Kit's always been Devon's favorite.
It wasn't that hard to like Kit because he was so funny, lovable, and so easy to get along with. If Kathryn didn't know better, she'd think that maybe even Devon had a little secret crush on him.
"He's doing great; it was really sweet of him to show up. He actually told me he visited me at like 2am but I was already asleep." Kathryn said.
Devon nodded her head, "Kit's always cared for you; no matter what time of day, he'd be there no matter what."
Kathryn smiled, that was true. Just one call and Kit would be at her place within a matter of minutes. He wasn't her best friend for no reason after all.
"He also told me something else ate.." Kathryn fiddled with her thumbs, wondering how to bring up the subject.
Devon smiled back, assuring she could tell her anything; "What is it?"
Kathryn took a breath, "Well last night, Daniel actually came and visited me. After Kit and the Star Magic guys left."
Devon gave her a suspicious glare, "Did you just smile while saying Daniel's name?" she smirked.
"That's not what we're talking about right now." Kathryn avoided the question; even though the topic she wanted to talk about was Daniel.
"But back to my story," Kathryn started, "When him, Diego, & Manolo came; he said that Daniel was still with me."
Devon looked down, not surprised because she was the one who had to wake Daniel up to tell him he should get going; "I know."
"And then he-" Kathryn began, "Wait, you knew?"
Devon nodded her head, "When I came to visit you at like 9am, Daniel was still there. He was knocked out and super lucky I was the one who came and not Alex; or else that would've looked horrible."
Kathryn pouted, confusion in her eyes; "Ate, am I a horrible person for still having feelings for Daniel even though it's completely wrong?"
Devon shook her head, running her hands through her hair as a sign of security; "You're not a horrible person Kathryn, not one bit. You can't help what your heart feels; that's pretty damn impossible." she said, "But I need to ask you one thing, do you like Alex?"
Kathryn looked at her hands, "I would lie if I said I didn't; but I would also be lying if I said I liked him more than Daniel. But the thing with Alex, he's not hard to like. Every time I'm with him, I feel like a princess who is always being served by her prince. He never fails to make me laugh or smile and always cheers me up if I'm feeling down. As for Daniel, I rarely get to really speak to him or spend time with him; but when I do, I never want it to end. I have this never-ending smile and butterflies fly all over my stomach. I get nervous and shy, whereas with Alex, I'm pretty comfortable around him now."
"Now that's when things can get really confusing." Devon told her, "If I were you, I would test out your relationship with Alex for a little bit longer and see if your feelings for Daniel go away. If they're still there after even around a couple weeks, you need to end things with Alex before both of you get hurt. Never commit yourself to someone if there's another person in your heart as well; no one deserves that."
