I was woken when the bus hit a huge bump in the road. The bus driver grunted a not genuine sorry. I rolled my eyes. Then I remembered my dream, the one I had been so rudely awakened from. (Glare at bus driver)
I was sitting in math but Cam was there. I waved at her. Then I noticed the fire creeping up her arm. Cam looked at it startled with wide eyes. I could see her concentrating trying to turn it off but nothing happened. She looked up at me but she couldn't see me. I tried to turn visible but I couldn't I was stuck . I tried to call her name but my voice didn't work. She started to fade but she said something the words "Help me!"
I began to wonder. Was Cam having the same problems as me?? If this were the case I would have to find her when I reached Wintrie.
After hundreds of hours of reading sleeping and listening to music later, the bus lurched to a stop. My eyes flickered as I groggily stumbled down the aisle, it was at least eleven at night! I was too tired to find a hotel to stay at so I found a nice patch of evergreen trees near what I think was a library and just laid down. I had brought several blankets in case I needed to do this. I made a sloppy tent and covered it with a waterproof tarp. I swaddled myself in about 5 blankets and immediately fell asleep.
BOOM!! I snapped awake as one of the trees by my tent crashed to the ground. A thunder storm was going on and a lightning strike had hit a tall pine. On top of that it was pouring down rain. I quickly packed up my blankets which were luckily only damp. I kept the tarp so I wouldn't get wet. I looked at my phone which was close to dying and saw it was 6:00am. I sighed. I ducked my head outside and saw the sun just peeking over the hills. It was late spring now so the days were getting longer. I tried to fall back asleep but the thunder crashes made it impossible. I didn't notice the tear streaking down my cheek. This is what I didn't want to happen, camping out, alone, with no plan whatsoever. I decided I should probably find a bus that would take me at least a little closer to the border. I pulled my waterproof rain jacket over my sweatshirt. I rain over to a nearby bus station and grabbed a schedule which was luckily not wet. I read it. Crap!! I thought. There was no bus going that way!! I either had to hitchhike or just walk the whole way. I was to nervous to hitchhike so I decided I would walk but after the rain let up a little. I eventually managed to fall asleep and was blessed with no dreams just peaceful nothingness.
I woke a couple hours later and saw that it was nine. The rain had stopped and it actually looked like a nice sunny day. I shook my tarp and laid it out to dry a bit more. I found a grocery store and got some tangerines and granola bars. I had a small snack while sitting in a kind of park with a beautiful fountain in the middle. I went back to my "home" and folded up the now dry tarp. I decided I should probably start going. I packed everything up and started walking down the sidewalk. I was nervous to see Cam but I knew everything would be okay.
