Colbie's POV:

"Its quite the town, isn't it." Jared said.

The sun was rising and we picked the perfect place to watch it. "I've lived in Ohio all my life and I've never been here, never even heard of it."

Not only was the sun rise beautiful, but the food Jared just bought me tasted like Heaven. "I can't believe we snuck out."

"I've done it before," he stood up and stretched, "we should start heading back. They wake everyone up around 8 for breakfast," he looked at me, "don't worry its optional to eat it."

The rest of the walk back was short, but silent. I just met Jared and I was having a blast here. "So whats your story." It wasn't even a question. It was a statement.

"My story? Well I never met my parents fully. My mom died in labor and then my dad married someone else and they had my sister. Then they just didn't want us. They left us at a train station." He didn't sound upset at all.

I scratched my back, "I'm sorry."

"Thanks. And I've been with so many families but in all honesty, I just would rather stay here. Bouncing around houses isn't fun." He shrugged and held the door open for me.

"Thanks for breakfast, it was delicious." I smiled and started for the door.

As soon as I was about to go to my room he stopped me, "wait, Colbie. Meet me here tonight around 9, okay?" He smiled as I nodded and entered my room.

Skyler's POV:

"Colbie Gehler? No I don't know who that is." I could tell Abby was getting impaitent and wanted to leave.

The woman on the other line was asking about my dad, "yes Bryan Gehler, thats my dad. He apparently died." It couldn't be possible, the things she was saying. I couldn't have a sister. "Look, I'm coming to Ohio, to talk to someone about my dads will. Whats your address?"

Once I was off the phone with the woman, it was time to leave. "Lets go, Abigal." I said goodbye to Kaden and Wrigley and then Abby and I headed out.

"So you're going to meet this woman, Colbie?" She asked as she hopped into my F.250.

I put the key in the ignition and started the truck up. "Not Colbie. We're going to talk about Colbie. Aparently I'm related to her, through my dad. And she needs help or something." I pulled out of the garage and headed onto the main road.

Abby hummed along to the song that was playing, Point At You, by Justin Moore. "What are you going to do, like what if she needs money or something?"

"I don't know then. Look, you're not going to come in with me about her, alright? I don't even know this girl and I don't know. Just please wait in the car then." Her hand was on my knee and tapping along with the song.

She nodded in agreement with me and closed her eyes.

Almost 15 hours later, we finally arrived in Ohio. "So your father, Bryan Gehler. We're sorry he passed. Its been about a week now. But anyways. His will has you listed down for half of his fortunes." The man that called me about my dad in the first place said.

"Half? Who does the other half go to?" Abby was sitting beside me with her attention on her iPhone. I wasn't mad about only getting half, I was just curious.

He typed something into his computer, then fiddled with a few papers, "ah, here it is. It says he has another child he wants to give it to." He smiled, "I'm assuming a sister or brother?"

"No, I'm an only child." I stood up and tapped Abby on the shoulder, "thank you sir, I'll be in touch with you over the next few days." He shook my hand and we walked out of the building.

It was later in the evening while Abby and I were getting settled into a hotel room when Kaden called. "Hello? Hey Kaden whats up?"

Abby was already half asleep in our bed, "oh nothing actually. Just making sure you guys got there alright. And that woman, she called again. And she said that you need to call her."

"Alright, well tell me the number." I could hear Wrigley barking in the background.

After he told me the number, I told him I'd keep in touch with him during the week. "You know, it'd be pretty cool if you have a sister. We could totally have a girls day out, if she came to live with you." Abby had her head rested on my chest and I had my arm around her.

"Well I'm meeting with her tomorrow. So if everything goes well I guess I'll get to meet her. Its just so weird. I didn't think my dad had another kid."

"I'm sure it will go alright." After she kissed me on the cheek, I started to doze off.

Colbie's POV:

When I walked into the room I shared with 4 other girls around my age, I saw that all of them were awake. Most of them looked like they just got up though. "Breakfast is now in the cafetirea," played over the loud speakers in the room.

Once I sat down on my bed and reached for the book I brought with me there was a knock on the door. "Colbie, can you please come with me." It was the social worker, the one that I first met when I got here.

I nodded and sat my book on my bed. "What is it?" When I got out in the hall, there was a man that looked around 27.

"Colbie, this is Skyler. This is your half brother."

The room we were in was painted white, it was boring and small. There was a desk with a computer on it and many papers on it, and then 3 chairs on the opposite side of the desk. Skyler and I were sitting beside each other, "Mr. Gehler, I just need you to fill this paper out about yourself." She smiled and handed him a pen and the form. "I'll let you guys talk for a while," then she stood up and left the room.

"So you're my little sister, huh." He sounded just like my dad.

I nodded, "I guess so."

"When I was 3, he went out to get something from the store. My mom waited up for him and he never came home." A chuckle came from his mouth as he was writing things down on the paper. "And thats where you come in, right?"

He was just like my dad. It was almost hard to believe, I hadn't heard his voice for a while. It was nice to hear. "My parents never told me about you. Or dads first marriage. They never were unhappy. Being here, it isn't right."

Skyler set the the form down on the desk, "look, I'll see what I can do. I can't promise anything."
