I couldn't work out whether I was nervous or just apprehensive of the next day of school. Would Macey speak to me? and why didn't we speak before last night? These things rushed through my mind like a hurricane.

As I made my way to school I thought about all the things I could say to her, how I could keep a conversation going and what I could talk to her about. Then the realisation hit me. She was my best friend only a few years ago, and I spoke to her yesterday like we'd never had time away from eachother. The only problem was... her friends. They were the 'popular' girls, let's say, and they weren't the nicest bunch. You'd constantly hear them laughing at some poor kid or bitching about a couple which shows a bit to much PDA. You may think I'm stereotyping here, but believe me, they're a good example of that stereotype. They'd probably take the piss out of me for talking to her, comment on my hair, my clothes and my voice. See, the 'popular' guys are supposed to mix with the 'popular' girls, yes? Well, no. Not for us. The guys (me, Liam, Louis and Niall) and the girls (Macey, Alexa, Tammy, Chloe, Lacy and Sophia) didn't mix. Mainly because Liam liked Alexa and was too shy to speak to her, so made sure we stayed as far away as possible, which in my mind didn't make sense at all because he's a lovely guy and not that bad looking either. I didn't speak to Macey because I didn't think she wanted anything to do with me anymore. None of my friends knew that I liked Macey. I kept it to myself so I didn't bother anyone else with my problems and in hope my feelings would go away, but to no avail.

I walked through the front gates and the boys were already waiting for me there.

"Alright mate?" Louis said, slapping my back gently, greeting me.

"I am yeah." I replied, then remembering Macey's proposition. "Hey guys, we're been invited to a party on Saturday!" They all turned around with confused looks on their faces.

"Harry, since when do you go to parties?" Louis asked, slightly puzzled.

"Since now, just decided to have some fun this weekend." I replied simply. That's the main part, anyway.

"Harry loved parties, back in the day." Niall said with a smirk, and I cringed at the embarrassing stuff I remember doing intoxicated.

"I'm coming then, if we're actually going!" Louis chimed in, then looked over to Liam, "What about you Liam? Coming?"

Liam looked deep in thought. "Who's party is it?" He asked me.

"Macey's"

They then all turned their heads towards me in shock.

"Macey Dusk?" Niall asked. I sheepishly nodded, what's the big deal?

"We never get invited to any of their parties" Louis stated.

"And?" I asked.

"It's a bit out of the blue isn't it?"

"Not really, there's a first time for everything, isn't there? And this is the first time she's inviting us to one of her house parties" I stated bluntly. It was frustrating me they couldn't just take this offer.

"I guess so" Louis said with a small nod.

"Will Alexa be there?" Liam asked, saying her name as if it's a swear word, even though she's not about.

"Come on Liam, you're the smart one here, of course she will she's Macey's best friend!" I said, laughing at him slightly. He gets all flustered at the mention of her and it gives me something good to tease him about.

"It'll be a good chance to speak to her Liam, have a can of beer and you'll be fine!" Louis said to him, nudging his shoulder slightly.

Liam's eyebrows furrowed and he looked deep in thought.

"Fine! Fine." He said and the other guys cheered, and we all made our way into the school.

The first three lessons dragged, English, Science and then History. However, Music Technology was next and I was looking forward to it as usual. It was hard work but it gave me something to think about and I loved it when my brain had to work hard, so my thoughts wouldn't overpower me like they do in the middle of the night.

"Hey Niall" I said as I walked up to my best friend.

"Hey Harry, are you alright?" Niall asked me and I nodded my head with a small smile and before I had chance to reply, the teacher, Mrs Marley, started to speak.

"Right everyone today we are going to carry on with your music projects, please can everyone get their instruments out and resume working. I will be here if you need any help" She said with a smile, before continuing whatever she was doing on the computer.

"Mate, she's so hot" Niall said from next to me.

"Niall, you say that every damn lesson" I huff, annoyed by his repetition.

"It's because it's true! She's got a really great-"

"Niall!" I interrupted him, "do you have no respect at all? Just stop telling me all your stupid sex-obsessed teenage boy thoughts!" I whispered angrily.

"Sorry bro, what's wrong with you lately anyway? you're so moody all the time and it's really irritating."

"Well you're bloody irritating me" I said before quickly standing up. Niall is my best friend and everything but sometimes he does get on my nerves with his inappropriate comments and mouth which he doesn't think about what he's going to say before using it.

On my way to the door I bumped shoulders with someone and didn't really pay attention to who it was.

"Harry!"

"What now!" I turned around quickly and locked eyes with Macey. "Oh, sorry I thought you were Niall." I apologised, and she smiled slightly.

"Don't worry! How are you?" She said stepping closer to me so people couldn't over hear our conversation. "Did you sleep when you got back last night?" She said very quietly, almost inaudible.

"Probably an hour or so" I replied and she frowned. Surely it's noticeable by the dark circles under my eyes and my tired demeanour?

"That's really bad... meet me at the common tonight, same time" She said, looking around her before leaning in to tell me the proposition.

"Uh, okay" I replied, slightly confused, but slightly intrigued.

"Okay! I just came in to give Miss Marley this note" She flailed a note around in front of me before throwing her hair over her shoulder and making her way to our teacher's desk. I looked around, and it seemed like no one had seen our little exchange, the last thing I wanted was to be questioned about this later.

Ignoring my idea of standing outside for a few minutes to get some air, I took my guitar and brought it with me back to Niall, setting it down gently on the table where Niall was already tuning his.

"Have you calmed down yet or are you going to look for a new partner?" Niall said sarcastically and I laughed a bit. We always have small disagreements but it never came to anything serious.

"Let's get on with our song"

Hope everyone had a good christmas and new year :)
