A New Romance

Meeting The Parents Pt.2

-Skipping to When Andy is off tour and its near the holiday time-

So its the first Christmas Andy and I are spending together, it is also the time that my parents want to meet Andy. 

As much as I hate the thought of it, I need to do this to show Zed that they can't ever tear Andy and I's relationship apart and the relationship between my siblings apart. 

I got dressed in an all black v neck top, a pair of all black pants and some maroon doc martens. I straightened my now black hair and ran down and drove to Andy's house to pick him up 

-Skipping the drive- 

I walked in and saw Andy on his couch 

I snuck up behind him and covered his eyes 

"Guess who it is?" I asked 

"Um I don't know.... Just going on a hunch and saying its Kaya." Andy laughed 

I uncovered his eyes and he arched his head back and gave me a kiss. Andy walked around  the couch 

"Ready to meet my family." I rolled my eyes 

"No." Andy laughed 

Andy and I walked hand in hand out to my car and we drove to my house back in Inglewood...

Inglewood is very ghetto... 

I grew up around Meth heads, cocaine addicts, heroin addicts, I grew up with bloods around my neighbor hood... I was told to never go out at night without a pocket knife and or pepper spray. I lived in the east side of Inglewood so it was very ghetto compared to the west side of Inglewood. 

-An hour drive later- 

We finally reached Inglewood and you can tell on Andy's face that he was surprised at the conditions I use to live in... But all I cared about was my brother and sister. We were pretty much one of the only white people that lived around our area, so we were very easy to point out in a crowd... 

We past by a bunch of people tagging stuff... 

"Babe look down." I said 

"Why?" Andy asked 

"Do it and do it now." I said 

It was some gang tagging stuff.... I know they won't do anything in the day, but I am not sure what they would do at night if they even thought and or I gave them the wrong look

"I can't believe Teegan and Zed live here... I can't believe you lived here." Andy said 

"Yea... But its easier than you think." I said 

We finally arrived at my parents house, I parked my car in the drive way and we walked up to the door and knocked 

"OOOO HONEY YOUR HOME!" My mom screamed and hugged me 

I rolled my eyes, and I didn't hug her back

"Alright I don't even want to be here..." I said while breaking her hug 

My mom looked up at Andy in fright surprisingly 

"Um... So this is Andy?" My mom said looking at the 6'4 height 

"Yup." I said

My mom went and shook his hand

"Alright lets head in!" I said breaking the awkwardness 

I grabbed Andy's hand and we walked in 

I saw Zed and Teegan with my dad watching T.V 

"KAYA IS HOME!" My mom screamed 

Zed and Teegan were very excited and ran up and hugged me 

"Hey guys i have missed you!" I said 

"I have missed you so much." Teegan cried 

"I missed you too." Zed said 

We broke our hugs and introduced Andy 

"This is Andy my handsome boyfriend." I said 

"Nice you meet you." Zed said while shaking his hand 

"Yea nice to finally meet you, I have heard a lot about you from Kaya." Andy said 

"And its finally nice to meet you too Teegan." Andy turned towards her 

"Yea you too." Teegan smiled 

Through this whole meeting session my dad hasn't once turned around to even talk to me or participate in meeting Andy

"Dinner is ready." My mom said 

Andy and I walked over and sat next to each other and waited for everyone to sit down

-During dinner- 

"So Andy, I know your in a rock band... Why did you choose being in a rock band?" My mom said 

I put my hands over my head 

"Um, I enjoy making music, and listening to it. I personally connect with rock because there are so many emotions put into it and I personally connect with rock so that why I choose to be in an um rock band." Andy explained 

"Did you go to college?" My mom asked 

"No I didn't, I don't feel that you learn a lot from sitting behind a desk and listening to someone lecture for an hour about shit you will never need. I feel that its a waste of good time that can be put into a creative outlet, such as drawing, making music, writing.... Stuff like that." Andy explained 

"Ahhhh ok..." My mom rolled her eyes 

"Yea Kaya didn't go to college either...." My dad finally spoke up 

"Look who finally decided to join the conversation..." I whispered 

"O I know that sir, and she agrees with my statement on college/highschool.... And that doesn't make her any less of a human because she didn't go to some stupid college..." Andy stood up for me 

"It makes her worthless... Do you guys think you will have these jobs forever? Andy, rock bands end up dying out... You will make less and less the more older you get and you will become lazier... And Kaya, I hear that you are a tattoo artist, do you really want to be sitting at a desk drawing dumbass doodles to put on someones arm? Your guys professions will be gone in the next 5 years..." My dad said 

"Sir if you don't mind me saying this... but we actually follow our dreams, and we make them a reality... We aren't letting assholes like you get in the way of our dreams... This is a lesson to you Zed and Teegan, don't ever listen to your parents... Don't ever let them tell you, what you can and can't do... And guess what, Kaya and I will be here if you need help... Don't give a shit what people say because with just an idea, it can become a reality... So if you don't mind me saying this to you George, go fuck yourself..." Andy said 

Our mouths dropped 

Andy got up and I got up as well and walked out of my parents house and went in my car 

"Babe thanks... Thank you for telling Teegan and Zed that... They really needed that, also for standing up to my parents... because I could't stand up for myself and my brother and sister." I said 

"Any time my sunshine." Andy said and leaned in and kissed me and we drove back to his house
