Chapter 7:
I slam the window shut and run into the hall I swing around the corner.
"Rick!" I pant "Rick!"
Everyone looks at me in the living room.
"They're coming! A herd!" I pant
I see lots of shocked reactions.
"Where?" Rick asks
I lead him to the window where the herd of walkers grows ever closer.
Rick runs back into the living room.
"Alright all lights off! No one make a sound and they'll eventually pass."
We all dash to lock doors and windows and turn off lights.
We gather in the living room.
"Everyone stay in groups, everyone have a gun. Carl you and Skyler and Ron need to protect Judith."
Rick hands Carl and automatic gun as well as to Carol, Morgan, Glenn and Maggie.
Since it's a big house we all spread out and try to stay as quiet as possible.
I try to stay away from Carl as much as possible. Ron guards the door with his gun pointed ahead.
Carl touches my hand reassuringly but I pull away. He looks at me confused. I look away.
"What's wrong?"
"Just... Stressed." I lie
He nods and leans against the wall.
The moans from outside get louder and louder until I can see walkers passing the window.
"Ron get down!" Carl whispers.
Ron slowly lays down on the ground.
I hear glass smashing and a rally of gun fire. We all jump up. I nervously hold my gun, I've never shot an automatic or semi before so I am cautious with it.
"Alright we have a bunch of ammo in that bag behind me. Don't waste your ammo and we should try to keep quite so we done attract them." Carl says
Me and Ron nod. I keep my gun pointed straight ahead.
The gunfire stops and I don't hear anything anymore. I peer out the window and see nothing. I walk to the door and reach for the handle.
"Are you crazy?!" Ron whispers.
"He's right. We need to stay in here." Carl says
It seems like hours pass before anything happens. After long hours of silence the turning of our door handler is a frightening sight
I jump up with my gun held steady.
It's Rick!
"It's ok kids you can come out now."
"Is anyone hurt?" I ask with a sigh of relief.
"No everyone is ok." Rick nods.
I push past to go to me and Enid's room for some peace and quiet and to turn in for the night. Enid isn't there still so I go right to sleep.
