Chapter Eight

Natalie

I sat on the bed stroking Tiara's hair. I leaned up and kissed her head "I missed you so much baby girl." I said

"Mommy, I missed you too. Why does Daddy not seem that happy?" She asked. I immediately leaned up, "What do you mean? Of course your Dad is happy." I said.

She gave me a small smirk and I decided to think to myself, He is starting to act a bit...odd.

I grabbed my phone and decided to text Alex.

Alex, If you're not busy, can we hang later?

A few minutes later he replied...

Not today.

I was a bit taken back by his response, he never rejected to hang out with me.

I was thinking if I should ask Tiara about what happened to her but I remembered what Alex said to me two weeks ago.

Flashback

He hugged me back "Your welcome..Listen, don't rush the story from her so quickly. Call me later I gotta hit the road." He said as he walked out .

Present

I decided to give Tiara more time to heal before I bombarded her with questions for my own sake. I don't wanna seem selfish.

Darrell walked into the room and looked at us. "I like how yall just took over my space." He said.

"You'll be alright, where have you been?" I asked and he straight up ignored me. He kissed Tiara's head "I'm glad your back with us baby girl." He said.

"Darrell, that was mad disrespectful." I said.

"What was disrespectful?" He said playing dumb.

"You just straight up ignored my question. Where have you been?" I asked

He looked at me, "Tiara go to your room, I'll be in there momentarily to watch a movie." I said to her. She jumped off the bed and strolled to her room.

"Answer me Darrell." I said while getting up and standing in his face.

"I was conducting business and what the fuck have I told you about questioning me? You know I hate that shit." He lectured.

"I don't care?" I said and he pushed by me and laid on the bed.

"Fine, be that way. I'm going to go spend time with our daughter, something you should be doing." I said while rolling my eyes and walking out the room.

Gloria

I was curling my clients hair and suddenly someone walked in causing a ruckus...only one person Tay.

"Give me a minute ma'am." I said and she smiled at me.

I walked towards Tay and he smiled at me instantly. "Hey future babymama." He said.

"Tay, I swear to god if I lose customers-"

"You ain't gone lose nothing, Let me take you out to dinner." He said.

I laughed a little bit "Come on now, you come into my salon causing shit and you expect me to go with you out to dinner?"

"Aye, lower your damn voice when talking to me, you'll learn that soon enough." He said.

"I will do what I want to do." I said.

He leaned up towards my ear, "When I have you soaking wet screaming my name, you'll learn to lower your voice when talking to Daddy." His husky voice said and he smiled at me.

"See you at dinner tomorrow, I'll pick you up at 6:57." He added.

"What the hell, I didn't accept? Why 5:57? That's such a awkward ass time." I said.

"I'm not a very normal man and you will accept." He said.

"Who said that?" I asked.

"That's your client over there?" He pointed at the lady sitting in the chair.

"Yes." I said.

He smirked..fuck!

"Thanks for saying yes, see you tomorrow. Dress formal." He said while walking out the salon.

Smooth ass nigga.

Alex

I dribbled the ball down the court and quickly did a layup.

My homeboy Stephen walked in the court.

"Wassup Mr. Big shot?" He said.

"Wassup , Curry." I replied.

"Man, where the hell have you been? I haven't seen yo ass at practice for a long time." He asked.

"I've been going through a lot of personal shit." I said.

"You got period cramps?" He said and I playfully hit him. We started to laugh "For real, Man we got a game coming up soon. You over here playing by yourself." He said.

"I'll be alright soon, I promise man. I'll be at the game." I said and he nodded. "What happened to the woman you told me about? Ya childhood friend." He asked.

"We ight. I'm just taking a break from a lot of shit." I said.

"You know you still a King of Atlanta right? You got more shit on yo plate, you just gotta balance it all." He said.

"I will take it step by step but I'll be back and when I come back, people gone wish I never did." I said

I was thinking if I should make a separate book not dealing with Deceived or Deception talking about the life of Alex before he came back into Natalie's life.

I would call it The King Of Atlanta.

I'm considering it at this moment but...I'll let everyone know if I'm pursuing that book.
