"Mom, Dad, this is Sam, the queen's daughter," Adam introduced me to his parents once we got to the lake.
"You can call me Annabelle," his mom shook my hand. "And this is George," Annabelle motioned to Adam's father, who shook my hand as well.
"Wow, you have a firm grip!" George said.
"I was a blacksmith's dau-" I cut off my self, "helper." Adam gave me a sorrowful look. I just smiled in return and walked over to the water. I looked at my rippled reflection.
"What are we going to do from here?" I heard George ask Adam from behind me.
"The only thing we can do, Dad. We'll have to cross the ocean to get to a new country. All the clans might know who she is. We can't take any risks. We have to go somewhere she isn't know to the people and where they won't force her to go back home." Adam explained. To think, they could be at a different clan by now and not have to take me to different country if I would have chose to go on my own. I am such a burden.
"You know," I said turning around to face them, "you guys don't have to take me over to another country. I can go by myself, that way all you guys will have to do is go to another clan instead of going to a whole different country," I reasoned with them.
"No. I won't leave you to fend for yourself. Plus we can't take the risk of them finding and killing us also," Adam gives me an assuring smile. I nod to him in response.
"We do need to go now, though," George says to us. We all agree and head off towards the harbor to catch a ship to another country. George and Annabelle are walking side-by-side up ahead of Adam and I. Once and a while our arms will brush against each other, sending weird shocks up my arm. I decided to have a little fun with Adam.
"Watch this," say to him then in a blink of an eye I morph into a mountain lion. I race towards a tree and grip it with my claws, climbing up the large trunk. Once I reach a large branch, about 35 feet off the ground, I walk out towards the end of it. I look towards Adams amused and confused face.
"What are you-" he started to say but I jumped off the branch, flying towards the ground. I hear him shout something but I am too concentrated to hear what he is yelling. When I'm about 2 feet from the ground, I suddenly morph into a Eagle and swoop upwards before I hit the ground. I fly straight up towards the sky then let my feathered body drop towards the ground, morphing back into myself when I land on the ground.
I am met by Adam's, George's, and Annabelle's worried stares. "Ta-Da!" I exclaim, striking a pose.
"What were you thinking!?" Adam shouts. I just laugh at him.
"Well I wasn't really thinking much since I had to concentrate on what I was doing, but if I had to be thinking something it would be how funny yall's expressions were. They were absolutely priceless!" I laughed.
"You could have died!!!" Adam exclaims. I suddenly noticed that they thought I would have died and instantly felt guilty.
"Look I didn't mean to worry you, but I have had loads of practice and I was perfectly safe," I reasoned with them. Annabelle and George both laughed and shook their heads at my mischievous.
"Oh it's alright, sweetheart. I think we will set up camp right here. We will go gather some firewood." They both walked away, mindlessly talking to each other. I turned back to Adam gaining a harsh, stern glare.
"I'm sorry! I thought it would be cool," I defended, throwing my hands up in defense.
"You could have been injured or worse, DEAD!" Adam scolded me.
"But I'm not though! Listen, I'm really sorry about all of this. Please don't be mad at me!?" I plead with him. I really don't want him mad at me. I hate when my friends are mad at me...Adam is a friend, right? Wait of course he is! He is helping me escape going to prison. Friends always do that for each other.
