I was detained for the third time in my life inside a small, crowded and dingy prison. Someone imprisoned me but i honestly did that for her safety. My they-call immoral act was removing the cap of the old lady. Was it so deep? Of course not, the lady screamed and let the cops get me and bring me here. I did not mind explaining but I knew I would've been released after 24 hours. They call my action, bullying. They don't know it was a hero thing."Viceral, you're out." said the head.
"Is the old lady there?" I know she was there and I know I will be set free by this time.
"Yes she is. She'll talk to you,"
I walked towards the cop's table where the old lady is after the chief unlocked the rails. She immediately held my hand and kissed it. Maybe the chiefs were thinking why would she do that to me.
"Thank you, thank you very much! Kung hindi dahil sa 'yo nasaksak na ako ng mama. Salamat, hijo. Pasensya na at napagbintangan pa kita," she apologized. She was about to kneel down but I bet its hard for her age so I stopped her.
"No need, woman. You're welcome, can I be free now?"
"Don't you want me to reward you some money?"
"I don't need. Thanks," I flashed a smile before I did my steps to go out of the place.
"You were born with this power, JM. This is not usual to our blood, only few of us has this so take good care of it. What comes out on the paper must be the one you'll handle." said dad and gave me a blank bond paper.
"But I'm just 18!"
"It doesn't matter, I had that since I was 7 and you're lucky to be matured enough when you control that."
"This does not make any sense, walang lumalabas sa papel!" I was about to crumple the paper when my eyes incredulously stared at it while slowly, a face of a girl appears. "What the heck?"
"That's your patient."
"I'm not a doctor!"
"She's not in pain, idiot. Diba you're able to see what will happen next, you must protect that woman in any harm." he explained but I really don't get it. I stressfully pulled my hair, this is shit.
"But how? Where is she?"
"You know that, I know."
"But what if I see others' too? I won't save them?"
"You can. But your main focus is this woman, we, not normal beings don't choose who to handle. That paper decides." I nodded.
"Okay, I'll take the task."
"It lasts forever, son."
I am heading inside this famous coffee shop to cool myself. Heroes still get tired. I ordered the usual drink then looked for a table to sit at, unluckily, it was 4pm, too many people inside the shop until I saw a girl sitting alone and in front of her was a vacant chair. Sharing is caring ey.
"Excuse me," I even cleared my throat to get her attention.
"Yes you may sit." she said. I obeyed, "Ops! Be careful next time, little boy." she said after she caught the kid who was about to slip while running. Why didn't I see that?
"You're like me, aren't you?" I asked. She sip her drink first.
"Obviously,"
"I was just questioning myself why didn't I know that will happen to that kid,"
