“Autumn, are you even listening to me?” Ella pretty much screamed at me, from across the table.
“Huh, sorry I was just-"
“Thinking about Hades again, yeah we kind of guessed being as he’s all you’ve been talking about for the past week. Anyway what do you even see in him? I mean, you must be the only person in our year to find him interesting, no one else even speaks to him, and here you are only thinking about him.” Georgia said all in one breathe.
“Sorry, it’s just that there’s something about him that, I don’t know, there’s just something about him that makes him seem different, to other guys. Anyway, what were you saying before?”
“We were saying, do you want to go to the movies tomorrow?”
“Erm I would, but I’m busy, sorry, maybe another time? Anyway I’ve got to get back home, so see ya.” I said waving goodbye to the others as I walked away from the bench, which we had been sitting upon in the park, on an early Saturday morning.
I knew they were wondering why I had turned down a trip to the movies, but I had to find out as much information on Hades as possible. It was important to me. I wanted to know why he seemed so familiar, and why I was so attracted to him. And the only place I could think of going to find all of this out was the library-or could just ask him directly, but that would make me seem slightly stalker like. And beside what would I even say to him- 'hey I think I remember you from somewhere before, and why is it that I’m the only person in the school, that feels attracted to you?' What a great conversation that would be to have with someone.
The library was quiet, but they always were. But quiet is what I need at the minute; I can’t even concentrate if it’s not quite. And being as I don’t really know what I’m looking for, the quieter it is the better.
Well that’s not entirely true, I mean, I know his family goes back as far the Salem witch hunt, but that was just a load of made-up fiction wasn’t it? Magic can’t really exist can it, if it did, or even if it does, the world would be overrun with vampires, werewolves, witches and whatever other mystical creatures are out there wouldn’t it?
But anyway back to what I’m actually here to look for the Salem witch hunt, an important aspect in British history according to Mr Hills, my history teacher at school, and even though history wasn’t my favourite lesson at school, I must admit I did love learning about the witch hunt, and besides, like Hades my family also stretches back, into the witch hunt.
And I know what you’re probably thinking ‘was your family one of the ones that got hanged?’ well I’m sorry to disappoint but we weren’t, instead we were one of the ones that accused people for using witchcraft. But either way, I can’t really see how the Salem witch hunt would have anything to do with Hades being so familiar to me, but hey, might as well give it a go, after all it’s the best chance I have of finding anything.
