This is my first story in a while..you have been warned. I'm glad to be back though!*note this chapter does contain some abusive content, just trying to sauce things up here.*
••••••••••••
Snow crunched underfoot, and flurries danced about in the sky-or what was the sky here in the Underground. It had definitely taken some time to get used to not seeing the stars or the sun, but I enjoyed the glowing rocks just as much.
Getting used to living here has been difficult, but better than living back home. Escaping the terror of my strict parents and abusive brother was the key priority. My brother was a real psychopath, I mean him and I both were to some extent, but he was truly mad. He's been admitted to a mental hospital twice during high school. He'd always been secretive and sneaky.
I could never forget that day.
{A few weeks earlier}
"STOP ANDREW, PLEASE," I wheezed in pain. Another hard hit to the leg as you tensed up, curling into a ball.
"I SAID I GIVE UP, OKAY? YOU WIN. JUST LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO NOW PLEASE GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME."
But I knew he never would. The same smirk on his face every time. The same way he approached, chest puffed out to seem all big and mighty. Well he wasn't, he was a coward. Andrew was always jealous that he was the older child, having me 'always get what I want'. It was never that way, mom and dad took great care and went out of their way to make us happy.
His back was now faced away from me, rooting through a drawer. My eyes widened. 'Knife' I thought. He'd only ever pulled one on me once before, and left a small cut on my cheek, but I feared that this time would be worse.
"Goddamnit, wh-where's my..."
I took this as a chance and slowly stood up from my crouched position. I took a glance at him in the mirror. Perfect.
"It has to be here somewhere. WHERE'S MY FUCKING KNIFE EMILY?"
Shit. He made eye contact with me through the mirror. Facial expression changing.
"Just in time," he says, holding up his prize, "I found what I was looking for." He turns to face me, and I swear I went two shades whiter.
He made no effort to move, just ragged breaths coming out of his mouth. I took my chance and abruptly bolted to the door. I almost tripped over the Jade, our fat tabby cat while rounding the corner. I heard shouts from behind me and I loud thud. Poor Jade.
I took this as another advantage and grabbed my leather jacket and threw on some lace up boots. I bolted out the door and into the backyard in a flash, racing up the hill and over to the plains. I continued running, my lungs and muscles burning me to stop, but I couldn't. Not with that monster behind me.
I started running up the rocky incline, Mount Ebott to be exact. I slipped on a loose rock, and stumbled down, lucky to catch on another rock a few feet below. Minor scrapes on my forearms and hands were also luckily all that I received. That is until long story short, my brother caught up with me and gave me a long slash to the back.
A blood curdling scream emits my mouth as tears prickle my eyes. A wave of pain shot through my body. I thought I was done for. That's when I saw a hollowed cave-like area. 'What's the use of trying anymore, I'm dead either way.' I thought.
I grudgingly make my way up, after kicking him straight in the chest, and him falling down, where I presume he'd receive some broken bones.
"Karma's a bitch." I mutter to myself, almost grinning.
I make it up to what still looked like that cave, and go to collapse on the earthy floor only to be free falling..
{End, present time}
I don't really know what's happened to my family, or my brother. I had a new family down here now. I had a goat woman, named Toriel who took me under her wing, with her husband Asgore. Toriel made killer Butterscotch-Cinnamon pie. She's also been helping to treat the ugly gash on my back, which reached from my tailbone and curved to the base of my neck.
They had a cozy home in the Ruins, but I didn't want to intrude and insisted I shouldn't stay, which ended with her sending me to the Inn and having me return every week for new bandages. I had really started to settle into the routine.
•••••••
The sun had started to set, just as I left my goat parent's home for the week.
"Goodbye Mom, Dad!" I hugged them as I left.
"Goodbye my child, we hope you have a safe return, call me when you arrive!" She called out behind me.
I turned and waved at her, to show I understood. This time, though, something felt different-I felt as if I was being watched. Just as I got to the barred bridge, I swear I heard someone breathing and stopped dead in my tracks.
"Who goes there?" I whispered to no one in particular.
"nobonedy please leave a message after the beep. Beep."
I chuckled, since this was probably the worse joke I have ever heard.

Cliffhanger, kinda? Muahaha!
