Vanessa Willows POV
"But he's totally into me......right?" Macy stared up at me, her eyes sparkled and filled with hope just waiting for me to answer.
And to be honest, I couldn't care less. I mean she's been obsessing over the same guy for about a month now. And as it turns out he and Stacey began dating a few days ago. But I didn't know how to break the news to her.
"Ummm....yeah, why wouldn't he be! You're totally gorgeous and you have a great personality." I immediately felt bad for not telling her, but I've always been a people pleaser and hurting people intentionally or not is not a good feeling.
"Anyways," I began, trying to change the subject. "What did you get on that chemistry test? It was pretty hard."
Macy scoffed.
"What the hell. You, Vanessa Willows found the test hard?" her florescent blue eyes widened in disbelief.
"Well.....yeah" I muttered. I didn't understand why this was such a huge shock to her. I may be perfect but even the nerds who usually get top scores thought that the test was harder than usual.
"Well I haven't done it yet, but since you said it's hard I'm scared now," She exclaimed running her hand nervously through her bouncy blonde hair. "Then again I didn't study"
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. At this rate, I'm sure my eyes will get stuck at the back of my head with the amount of eye-rolling I've been doing lately.
"You always complain about getting bad grades, but you never put in any effort at all." I lectured her hoping that this time I will finally manage to get through to her.
"Whatever, even if I studied, I would probably still fail" she huffed in annoyance, crossing her arms around her petite frame.
"With that negative mindset, maybe you will." I countered back, mimicking her move and raising one perfectly tweezed eyebrow.
"Puh-lease, I could go in there preaching about rainbows and unicorns, and guess what, I'll still fail. I'm not you Nessa, you literally get A's in everything." She said flailing her arms like a headless chicken as she pursed her lips in uncontained envy.
"That's so not true!" I glared at her. My dark brown eyes flashing in anger.
She rolled her chatoyant cat like eyes and let out a deep sigh.
"Oh really? Name one time you haven't gotten an A, maybe then I'll believe you." She tilted her head to the side and smirked.
"Well.........ummmm.......oh shut up." I muttered, letting out an exaggerated sigh of defeat at my feeble attempt to try to make up an excuse.
"Hey, what's going on here." A deep voice boomed from behind me. I immediately recognized it as my best friend Ashton Lockwood. Now Ashton is a very special individual in my life, we have been through so much together.I met him when we were 9.Not much has changed since then. But of course, at that time I was a force consumed by wanderlust. We sort of just kicked off from my need to always go on childish adventures and that time he unfroze me in freeze tag when no one else would because they thought my ugly was contagious. The time I spent with him were whimsical and I wouldn't change a thing. It was safe to say that I trusted this guy with my life. So the amount of relief I got when I heard his voice was ineffable.
