Chapter 9: Not Going Anywhere

The next morning I wake up to an empty bed. I sit up frantically and run out of the bedroom but soon find Demi in the kitchen making pancakes. I walk over to where she's standing and wrap my arms around her waist, kissing her exposed neck gently.

"Good morning baby." I say.

"Good morning. I hope you're hungry for some pancakes." She says smiling.

"Absolutely.. So.. Dems.. We need to talk about New York..."

"Oh.. Right.. I almost forgot about that.." She says as her smile fades away.

"I don't want to leave you but I've been working towards this for awhile now... But I've been thinking.. And you are more important to me than some school.. So I can wait.. I can wait to go to New York till you are ready to come with me because I can't imagine being that far away from you.. I'm in love with you.. And I have been for a long time.."

Before I could say another word she hugged me. I hugged her back and we stayed like that for a minute. When we pulled away from each other she was crying.

"Baby, what's wrong?"

"Nothing.. It just means a lot that you said all that.. I love you too.. So much more than you could ever imagine."

I gave her a quick kiss and she made is some plates stacked high with pancakes. After we ate, I cleaned up the glass at the front door and put tape over the hole until we could go to the store to get more glass.

The rest of the day we sat in bed talking and watching movies. Possibly a little bit of making out but not too much considering she still had bruises on her neck. I felt really bad about the whole thing.. I should've just told him that she wasn't there.. That he had the wrong house... It's all my fault that this happened to her... But I'm definitely going to make it up to her..
