Coraline Denver was a hopeless wanderer.
Her father taught her well just one thing; be someone you're not. He didn't want to be a pure-blood wizard and be on the Dark Lord's side, so he changed his appearance, took his four years old girl at the dead of the night, and became an American hobo, ex-junkie who is turning his life around for the sake of his child.
She was no longer Victoria Malfoy; she was Coraline Denver that survived because she was tough enough, and because her father gave her everything he had, and she saw half of America.
And she loved it, she assured her best friend as they rested on the white sand in Guatemala.
"Mi amor," he started, "don't you want to know your family now that your father is gone?"
"No, mi corazon contento, niño," [No, my heart's content, kid,] she stated. "Yo no te tengo sentir [I have no regrets]; I've got no regrets on the way we lived. I love it like that."
"Coraline! Diego! Escuchando?!" [Listening?] the motel's owner called loudly.
"Si! Cuando a ser santos volver?" [When should we be back?]
"AHORA!" [Now!] he yelled loudly, making the two sit up straight. The two hurriedly throw on top of their swimming suits the motel's staff shirt and a pair of shorts, hurrying closer and shaking their feet off from the sand.
"Oh, Cora," Diego called, catching Coraline's hand.
"Si, mi corazon?" [Yes, my heart?]
"Feliz cumpleaños, viajero sin esperanza."
"Yo? Sin esperanza?" [Me? Hopeless?] Coraline laughed. "Yo te tengo mucho esperanza [I have a great deal of hope]; I am more hopeful than all of you combined, amor."
Diego gives her a small smile, landing a quick peck on her cheek before going in.
Happy Birthday, Hopeless Wanderer, Diego's words echoed in her mind for a moment.
Yeah right, she scoffed to herself, watching as the younger wizard almost tripped when he helped out a young couple.
"Coraline!" the owner barked again.
"Pardona me, pardona me!" she called back, "me cabeza... no aqui, pardon." [Sorry, sorry, my head... not here, sorry.]
"Sintiéndome enfermo?" [Feeling sick].
"No, no," she assured. "Un poquito perdido." [A bit lost].
"No te tengo tiempo para perdido chickas, Cora." [I haven't got time for lost girls, Cora.] he lectured before walking off.
"Si, claro." [Yes, obviously.]
"Cora! Beni acka!" Diego called her over, "Necesito ayuda!" [I need help!], he asked, making her run over to help what little hope she had.
