- During most of my life , people around me used to think that money meant everything. To me it did , at first. When I was younger , getting money like $60 dollars or so was a big deal for a 16 year old. Living on the north side of the Philly was pretty hectic. "Yo Dickhead ! " yelled Malik. Malik was one of my old time friends who lived on the same block as me. His parents were well known old heads. "Wassup yo" I said back. "What the fuck you supposed to be doing" , he said laughing. I was really supposed to be walking up the block to store but I was like fuck it , usual day and shit. "Nothing , tryna see what's the move", I said. You know how it goes , playing it cool. "What you tryna do" , he said. You see , Malik was the type of friend that everybody knew and he had all the connections for anything but him being one of my best friends was the best. " I don't know , I gotta see how much money I can get " . Growing up , usually you had to ask your parents for money , they wouldn't just give it to you for fun like shit seems in the movies. " Ard , hit my line " , he said giving me dap. "No doubt" , I said walking away up the block.
- Heading to the store on our block was like going on a journey. You never know what the fuck you might see. Rather somebody running from the cops , fights , old heads chilling on the porch. That's just how it was. Walking into the corner store your bound to run into somebody you know , used to know , or wanna know. So as usually I try to remember what my moms told me to get. I grab a bottle of Pepsi and some snacks , nothing major. When I get to the counter , I see one of my favorite old heads , Louis. He was a Hispanic who spoke with the Spanish ascent but was cool as hell. "What's good with you" . "Nothing , what's up with you" , he said. "Absolutely nothing" , I said laughing. " Ard , be safe " .
- After I pay , as I'm walking out the store to turn the corner and head back down the block , I see a couple of boul's tryna spit game to one of the jawns I'm cool with. Her name was Madison. I can tell she was really irritated with these bugging ass niggas. So me being the fly guy that I am , well no , let me take that back. The guy I wanted to be , walked over there and I said " y'all done ? ". They looked at me as if I was speaking in tongues. One boul said " fuck you say ? Mix me nigga ". (A/N : In case your not familiar with the term "Mix me" it means fight me) So as I put my things down , she tries to step in between us but I move her out the way like it was nothing. We start to square up and was talking shit. You know , how when your in the moment and need momentum to push you over the edge. I swing first and strike 'em right in the jaw. Then we get the wrestling and we end up in the street. Where then , one of the other boul's attempts to help his mans. Out of nowhere , I hear "Ayo BITCH , give my mans a fair mix" . Ctfu . It was my boy Malik. He dick'd it down the fucking block. Word to everything I love , my nigga came just in time. "Aye , Aye , Aye , Aye , Get the fuck off 'em". This nigga took forever to get to us , but when he did , he started wilding the fuck out from jawing boul to slamming the others.
- By then , the neighbors and old heads had already begun to break it up. Boul was mad cause he ain't get the jawn and his face was busted as shit. Me and Malik was cool , we just walked up to Madison and checked if she was alright. She handed me my stuff and smiled. I said "why thank you beautiful" . She blushed after that. It always seemed to make me happy , for making a girl feel special. I guess you could say it was some sort of lucky charm. Though , no girls really wanted to deal with me. I sometimes felt lonely. Honestly , watching Malik and pretty much every other guy I know get girls and be with them was pretty depressing , but not so much. I used to look at it as me getting extra practice before getting into the game. Ctfu. Young boul shit. I had no swag or style really. One of those smooth mamas boys. Until the re-do came. (A/N : When Malik took him into the good life).
