"So what do you guys want for dinner??" I asked Oliver, Ayden and Winston. I was currently standing over the sink, filling a pitcher of water. Oliver shrugged, as the twins yelled, "Chicken Nuggets!!"
I gave them a look more flat than day-old-beer.
"What?? We like chicken.." Winston said shyly.
"In nugget form!" Oliver pitched in, mocking his brothers with a wide grin on his face.
"Yeah!! Shaped like dinosaurs!!" Ayden chimed, having not realized that Oliver had been mocking them.
"So I take it you're the dumb one too??" I asked Ayden, while turning around and setting the water filled pitcher on the counter they were sitting at.
Winston and Oliver began to laugh uncontrollably, while Ayden smiled and looked up at me from the booth. I smiled back at him, to tell him that I was only joking.
"So.. really chicken nuggets??" I asked, already walking toward the freezer to grab them.
"Don't forget, in dinosaur shape!" Oliver taunted his younger brother. Ayden just punched him in the arm, making Oliver groan in pain.
I shook my head at them, reaching into the freezer and pulling out a bag of "Dino Nuggies".
"Oh em gee!!! YAY!!!" Ayden screeched when he spotted the bag of frozen food. The room went silent, and he ducked his head down, scratching the back of his head in an awkward manner.
"Anyway.." Was my way of trying to break the awkward silence in the room.
"Tell us about you, Claire!" Oliver said, making the twins smile and nod in agreement.
"Uh- I play a little guitar?" I questioned, not sure what there was about me to tell.
"And.." Winston asked, motioning with his hands for me to continue.
"I'm blonde.." I said, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly.I looked back up at then and they were all giving me a 'no duh' look.
"Yeah, you have blue eyes too," Oliver said, rolling his eyes.
"Nuh- uh!!" Ayden interjected. "Her eyes are green!!"
"I think they're blue.." Winston pitched in, a bit shyly and unsurely.
"They're green!" Ayden repeated.
"Blue!" Oliver claimed.
"Green!!!"
"BLUE!!" Oliver and Winston said in unison. At this point, all the boys had jumped off of the booth chairs they had been sitting in, and were getting dangerously close.
"Guy, guys!!" I said, making them all cock their heads in my direction. "My eyes are blue and green."
"Ohhhh.." All the boys said thoughtfully.
"Yeahhh.." I used the same tone, laughing and turning back to the oven that I had previously been heating.
...
"Best chicken nuggies EVER!!" Ayden claimed, patting his stomach and sitting back.
"Dude, I burnt them!" I said, staring at him like the other boys, who had barely touched their burnt food.
"Less than I would have.." he muttered, while stealing one of Winston's chicken nuggets.
I laughed at him, while putting his empty plate into the sink. "Well I'm gonna go take a shower and go to bed."
"This early??" Oliver asked, seeming the slightest bit put out.
"Yeah, I woke up really early today so I'm pretty tired."
"Well have fun showering," Winston said to me. "I think I'm gonna make Oliver and I some.. Different food."
"Gahh! I'm sorry I burnt your dinosaur chicken!!" I apologized, while walking out of the kitchen and down the hall.
"Hey can I come with??" I heard Ayden's voice call to me.
"No you perv!!" I yelled back at him, running up the spiral staircase and heading for the guest room's bathroom. A shower is all I need, then I can relax a little..
