A long day was just a scrape at the surface of Adam Lisk's day. Late to the early-morning meeting, practicing with Juniper Keene, now coming home to a much expected letter. Adam lived alone, but that didn't mean he was totally struggle free. He tore the envelope off of the front door, then whipped out his keys. He unlocked the front door, slowly stepped inside, then shut out the cold with a loud slam. He tossed his bag onto the leather couch and sat at the dining room table.
'I don't have time for this' he thought as he tore open the wet letter with a sigh. He pulled out the pink piece of paper with a small seal on it. He took a deep breath as he pulled open the letter with a good amount of aggression. His teeth clenched as he open the slip of paper.
The letter read:
"Dear Mr. Adam Lisk,
We regret to inform you that your rental payments have amounted to a staggering amount of 12,002 dollars. If rent is not paid to the office in TWO WEEKS, we will have to evict you from the premises.
Thank you,
Management."
Adam buried his face in his hands and cried. His tears soaked his hands with sorrow and pain.
"If I had the money to pay you I would, you sons of b*******!" he screamed as he tore the letter into a million small pieces. The small pieces floated as if they were snowflakes as they sunk to the ground. Mr. Lisk sprawled out onto the ground and threw a tantrum like a small child.
Adam knew he had to get a job again, but his life was a large mess and he didn't know how to get it back together. After he was laid-off by his auto body company, he has been in a great amount of debt. Not only was he behind on his rental payments, but he had to somehow pay child support to his nagging ex who constantly reminded him of how he needed to get it together.
He sat up on the floor, running his wet hands through his messy hair. He slowly stood up, and dragged his reanimated corpse self to the kitchen for a bottle of liquor. He stumbled over to the already open cabinet and grabbed a barely closed bottle of rum, and slumped on the floor once again. He put the cold lip to his and took sips of it as tears ran down his face.
"I'm such a disappointment to Juniper and Ashley and Brian and Mickey, I can't take it anymore!" he yelled and chugged a large amount of the liquid poison.
His mind eventually became fuzzy along with his vision, as he slumped to the side, his head hitting the ground and rum splashing out of the bottle.
