Chapter One:

He was doing it again, being him. It was 11:23 and the kids were asleep and he was throwing another fit on me. This time is wasn't that bad considering last time three lamps and a vase was broken. "Just leave Matthew, I'm tired of you acting like this." I said picking up his wedding ring off the floor. I put it on the counter along with mine and went upstairs careful not to wake the kids. "He followed and grabbed my arm quite roughly ,"I'm talking to you Elizabeth." I looked at him and talked between my teeth, "Goodnight Matthew." I got my arm out of his grip and went into my room locking the door behind me.

I slipped into my pajamas and laid on my bed on staring at my ceiling. I broke down into tears and rolled over to my right side and looked at my nightstand. I grabbed the picture frame that held our wedding photo and stared at it for a moment. I sat up holding the picture in my lap as tears fell onto the glass cover. My marriage is going down the drain, it wasn't what I wanted it to be. It wasn't what anybody ever wants, it just happens.

I just looked at his face, we used to be so happy and I don't know what happened. He became a self centered jerk that's what happened. He didn't want this life, he felt tied to me because we have three kids together. The tears dried up and turned into anger. I threw the photo at the wall in front of the bed, making glass shatter everywhere. I got up and grabbed everything me and him every shared or had together and broke it on top of the wedding photo. Loud crashes and shattered memories were everywhere. In the middle of my tantrum i heard a knock at my bedroom door. "Mommy what's wrong?" It was my youngest daughter McKenzie, she's only 4 years old. I can't say anything, I just stared at the pile of trash all around my room. "Mommy answer me pweese, mommy.." I finally realized my daughter was talking to me so I got up from sitting on the floor and opened the door bringing her in quickly and shutting and locking it again.

She saw the mess and looked at me with her beautiful green and blue eyes, "Mommy what's wrong." I sniffled "Come here." I said bringing her into my arms. She hugged me with her little arms. I put her on my bed so she wouldn't step on glass and I cleaned up my mess for the next 20 minutes. She was sitting on my bed playing with my pillow. "Where are your sisters?" I asked. She gave me a shrug and continued with messing with the pillows. "Okay, I will be back. Only open the door for mommy okay?" She nodded. "Okay."I said,

I quickly locked the door and shut it as I went out the room. I was a little startled when Matthew came up behind me. "What are you saying to my daughter?" He asks frustrated. I try to walk forward but he blocks me,"Excuse me." He puts a hand on the door behind me,"WHat did you say?!" He screams at me. Our two other daughters Lyla, 11 and Avery, 14 both come out of their rooms half asleep and rubbing their eyes. "Mom what's going on?" Avery asked. I looked at Matthew. He turned to them, "Nothing get to bed." They looked worried, "But da-" "GET TO BED." He interrupted Lyla causing her to cry and run into her bedroom slamming the door shut. Avery shook her head ad went into her bedroom. I walked into Lyla's room as Matthew stood there like a lamp.
