The kids (me, bro, three cousins) just opened up all our gifts from aunts and uncles and grandparents. (Currently watching adults open their presents from each other.)
The one that brought most tears, was a gift to my brother.
He got a gold necklace with a sort of charm with an "A" for "Archer", a music note, and a cross.
My grandpa wrote a letter for Peyton to explain everything.
•Archer, 'cause that's our last name.
•Music note, 'cause my grandpa was huge in music (well, he was in band while in school, he was a band director, and he's been in a few "old people" bands in the town).
•Cross, 'cause we're Christians/followers of Jesus Christ.
The letter also went into explanation that my brother is the only Archer to pass on the name. (The rest of us children are female, other than the male cousin (his mother is Archer, his father is Hitt).)
People who cried:
•Brother
•Grandmother
•Grandfather
•Archer Aunt
•My Dad
So yeah, that was a bit of a big deal.
I was even nearly at tears.
Family.
Wow.
