Dear Anonymous,
My grandmother is currently in the hospital. On Christmas. Yes, lovely, isn't it? One of the worst parts about it is that she lives in New Jersey, and we live in Massachusetts. She is a nanny to some kids over there, but it's hard to think that we weren't able to be together for Christmas. Her heart, apparently, is swollen and she has high blood pressure. They prescribed her some medicine, and she seems to be fine now, but that doesn't lessen my worry.
We might be able to pick her up in a few weeks, but before that she wants to take her medicine for a while and she is planning on asking her bosses for a ticket to the Philippines, as they have earlier planned. It hurts to know that she would rather die in the Philippines, when one of her daughters and her granddaughters are here. Yes, I know that my aunt, uncle and grandfather are all over there, along with my cousin, so I know that she would be better off there, but it's hard. And, to be thinking about all of this on Christmas day is pretty darn difficult. Merry Christmas everybody, and Lola(a word meaning Grandmother in the Philippines). Get well soon, and I love you.
