Williams POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the show we headed to dinner, Alexandria from what I can tell really enjoyed herself. We were walking with Delilah in the middle of us, each holding one of her hand. She broke the silence this time.
"William I can't thank you enough for this wonderful evening, I never imagined being able to see that show, especially with the original cast." She looked up at me with a breath taking smile. What she said next left me completely winded
"I couldn't imagine doing this with anyone but you and Deli."
Well it was now or never I guess I should ask, Rose is meeting us at the restaurant and we're only a couple block away now. I swiftly picked Delilah up and grabbed Alexandria's hand in my own, enjoying to feeling of skin to skin contact. She was so small and soft. She stopped and so did I.
"Alexandria I know you don't want to but I really need to ask you again. Will you and Delilah please move in with me? I will rest much better knowing you guys are safe."
She sighed, trying to remove her hand from my own, I wouldn't allow it though. I was enjoying our contact too much. She frowned a bit, almost pouting, oh how I wanted to kiss her, but now was not the time.
"William, I don't think thats a good idea." Now it was my turn to frown.
"Why would that not be a good idea? You'll be safe, you won't have to worry about bills, you'll be closer to you work and Delilah's school, what more can you want?"
She immediately got quite and looked away, something was wrong.
"Alexandria please tell me what is so wrong with me that you are willing to risk the safety of you and your daughter than live with me?" She looked at me eyes slightly glistening, was she about to cry? Am I really that bad of a person.
She looked at Delilah for a long time, Delilah fell asleep on my shoulder soon after I picked her up, and she was fast asleep now. She didn't answer for so long that I didn't think she was planning on saying anymore, I had almost given up in defeat when she finally spoke.
"Freedom" She looked up at me with large innocent eyes.
"What?"
"There's nothing wrong with you, not enough for me to risk our safety. I'm afraid of giving up my freedom, my independence. I don't like feeling caged, and everything you are offering me, just feels like another lock on my cage." She sighed looking down.
My heart sank, of course, her freedom has always been one of the most important things to her. The fact that she thought I was taking that away from her saddened me. Of course I will admit at times I do take her freedom to choose whats happening away from her. I wasn't making her anymore comfortable with some of my actions.
"Alexandria" I breathed out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "That is never my intention, I just want to you safe, I want Delilah safe. I want to be there in case something happens. I can't stand the thought of not being there when you need help...... when you need me. I will give you a key to my apartment, full access to any vehicle of mine that you like, anything you need to help feel more independent."
"William, that's just it. The more you give me the more dependent on you I feel. I've never had to rely on people before, I've never in my life needed to be protect. I've never felt so weak in my life that I need someone else to save me." At this point she had tears falling down her face.
"I was so scared, I am scared. Delilah could have been injured, and it would have been my fault. I can't even protect my own daughter, provide her safety, nothing."
