..:Christmas:..

It was just beginning to snow outside the Wang residence. The white snow fluttered down slowly, covering the bare tree branches and front porch. Yao sighed, looking outside the window. He had to admit, he didn't care much for Western holidays, but Christmas time was his favourite moment in the year. The place always was so cold and family and friends would come over.

But this year was different. No one came over to his house. Footsteps echoed the halls as Yao approached the kitchen. He reached up for the tea cup to make himself a glass. He sighed under his breath and heated up the water. The house would usually be so lively at this time, but it felt bare and cold. Yao glanced at the dining table, frowning as Yong wasn't there, on his phone or laptop. He glanced over at the couch, sighing as Leon wasn't there with Li, talking about the recent get up of the new movies coming out. He took a last glace next to him, shaking his head at Kiku wasn't there, asking him if everything is alright and leaving a kiss on his cheek.

He shook his head again, clearing his mind of the thoughts. Everyone must've had a good reason not to come over this year. He quickly made his tea, taking a seat on the couch. Sipping his tea carefully, he turned on the TV for background noise. He kept taking small sips of the tea, humming softly. He perked up at the sudden ringing of the doorbell.

Yao set his cup down on the table and walked over, looking outside the window to see who was there. It was Kiku? Why would he be here, didn't the Axis have something to do? Thoughts flooded Yao's mind as he opened the door slowly.

"Hello?" Yao bit his lip, staring up at the Japanese man, "Why are you here?" Kiku smiled softly, holding up a small wrapped box, "Came to give a gift, yet I think I might stay over. Is that okay?" Yao nodded softly, opening the door for the other to come in. He kept a close eye on the box, hearing Kiku chuckle. "You're probably guessing what's in here, huh? Figured." Kiku set the box on the dining table and smiled at Yao, something rare for him to do nowadays. He planted a small kiss on Yao's cheek, "Don't open it, until I tell you, okay?" Yao nodded and blushed softly at the kiss, "I'll try my best."

Kiku sat on the couch and eyed the tea cup, lying back. "Yao-kun, why aren't you doing anything for Christmas? I thought you would be out with Ivan or someone." He tilted his head, watching Yao sit down beside him. "No one asked, simple as that." Yao let out a soft chuckle, hiding the fact he really wanted to spend time with someone on Christmas, the time of the year to spend time with the ones you love. "Eh, it's really my fault, I should've asked someone." "But I came over, no?" Kiku placed an arm around Yao, bringing him closer, "Aren't you happy I did?" Yao nodded and blushed more, laying his head on Kiku's shoulder, "对, I am very glad you did."

Kiku kissed the top of Yao's head, "I love you." He whispered, nuzzling the smaller Asian. "I didn't want to see you alone this year, so I came over with a gift." "Speaking of the gift, what's in it?" Yao glanced at the box. It was obnoxiously small and neatly wrapped in gold and red paper that shimmered in the light. "Is it one of those figurines I see in Yong's house?" Kiku shook his head and poked Yao's cheek, "Always so curious, but no, I'm not the type to cheap out on gifts." "But it's so small..." Yao furrowed his eyebrows, looking back at Kiku, "Kiku, if it's a card, you can tell me. I won't get mad." He planted a peck on the Japanese's cheek, smiling softly, "I'll still love you if you got me a leaf." "But it's better than a leaf, love!" He whined, holding Yao close to his chest, "I promise you'll love it!"

Yao's curiosity only grew at the statement; he'll literally love anything Kiku will give him. "Anyways, are you hungry? I'm sorry I didn't cook anything, I didn't know you would be coming over." He frowned, trying to stand up. The other shook his head, grinning, "I already ate, and I didn't want to trouble you as a guest." He stood up and stretched, looking around the house. The place looked the same, only a few new pictured and plants here and there. Yao really didn't like to change up his home. The place still looked the same as when he was little, childproof everywhere.

Time pasted by as the two would talk about current events in their countries, laughing at the small trends their citizens did. Midnight came by quickly for the two. Kiku bit his lip, looking outside a window into the dark night sky. "Hey, Yao, do you want to open your gift now?" Yao tilted his head and nodded quickly, "Aiya, I forgot about the gift." The Chinese laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. Kiku stood up and got the box, bringing it back to Yao to open. Yao quickly opened the box, puzzled by the felt lining. He removed the rest of the wrapping, widening his eyes as he noticed what the box was for.

Kiku got on one knee and smiled up at Yao, bringing the box into his own hands. He slowly opened the box to reveal a small diamond ring inside, "Wang Yao, I've known you for almost all my life. You've seen me at my worst yet you still stay beside me. I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing if I hadn't met you. I can gratefully say I have the best boyfriend in the world, and I want to say I have the best husband in the world. Wang Yao, will you marry me?"

Tears dwelled in Yao's eyes as he nodded quickly, "I-I do!" He clung to Kiku, kissing him with passion. Kiku slipped the ring onto Yao's finger, wiping the other's tears with his thumb. "Merry Christmas, my love. I love you."
