Hyoyeon turned to Henry. "Henry, can you leave us both alone for now?"
Henry looked at the blonde girl in front of him. "Is he saying truth? Do you like him?" Though he knew the answer, in the depths of his heart, he expected she would deny it. But to his dismay she nodded. "I like him."
Silence followed the following minute before Henry pulled her by her hand and planted an impulsive kiss on her cheek that took her by surprise. "Goodbye Hyoyeon." He whispered and walked without sparing another glance at her way.
"Was he troubling you?" Luhan asked snapping Hyoyeon out of her trance. She shook her head. "He is just a friend who thought it would be nice if we dated." She replied staring at the direction Henry had left. "But I know better. We are not meant to be and besides, my friend Amber likes him. He will sooner or later realize she is the one for him. It'll be fine." She faced Luhan smiling and he nodded.
"Why are you here?" She enquired.
Luhan took a breath and inserted his hands in the pockets pant pockets before replying. "I thought about it and" he paused as Hyoyeon peered at him curiously "it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if I have to work hard to support myself. It doesn't matter if I have to go through many hardships. It doesn't matter because I'll have you in my life. Because life is not about how full your wallet it but how happy you are."
"You are saying my own dialogue to me?" Hyoyeon let out a hearty laugh.
"I guess I am." Luhan chuckled. He stepped closer to Hyoyeon. "When you said that to me, I didn't understand what it meant but now I do." He took her small hands in his long one. "Hyoyeon, I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Are you sure?"
Luhan nodded. "Never been so sure about anything. I may not know what hardships are but just because I haven't walked without shoes on, doesn't mean I can't walk without one at all."
Hyoyeon leaned back looking at him weirdly. "Where did you get that from?" She raised a lone brow.
"Well, it's my own dialogue." He grinned making her laugh. "You definitely have a huge room to improve." She commented. Luhan agreed. He then lifted her arms he was holding to his chest level. "So?"
"Sure, I'll be your girlfriend."
"Yes!" Luhan released her hands and fist pumped making the girl laugh. He then lifted her off the ground and spun her a few times, her legs dangling in their air as she laughed whole heartedly. He stopped spinning and let her slide down his hold till her face reached the same level as his. They gazed into each other's eyes for a few seconds before Luhan leaned in.
"What about Yeun?" Hyoyeon asked suddenly and Luhan groaned rolling his eyes. "Way to ruin the moment, Hyo!" He let go of her making the girl stand on her feet.
"Sorry" she grinned "but I've to know."
"I broke up with her of course." Luhan answered. "She seemed to understand. She said Sehun talked about you like that only because he was concerned about her feelings and that she would talk to him."
"Good."
"Now that that's settled," Luhan stepped forward and touched her left cheek with his right hand "where were we?"
"We are in front of my apartment and the landlady is peeking at us through her window to your left." Hyoyeon bit her lips.
Luhan immediately looked to his left and saw the curtain move. He groaned again. "Let's go into your apartment."
"You seem impatient." Hyoyeon teased as she let him pull her to the front door of her apartment.
"Well, I never knew I was the impatient type." He said as he took the keys from her and opened the door.
"I wonder what all new sides are there to you."
Luhan opened the door and held it open for her and when she was about to enter, he trapped her between him and the door and leaned in. "Oh, I will show all of them Hyoyeon, that and more." He winked making her blush.
That was a new side of Hyoyeon Luhan hadn't seen before. He teased her about it earning a small punch from her as she entered the apartment and he closed the door behind.
.
.
An year later.
Hyoyeon walked out of her room into the main hall of her apartment rubbing her eyes wearing a long t-shirt that reached mid thigh and her blonde her tied into a messy bun. Through half closed eyes, she saw Luhan cooking breakfast.
"What are you making?" She asked groggily still not fully awake.
"You're awake." He briefly turned to Hyoyeon smiling before turning back. "Bacons and sunny side up."
"Yum." She said in her sleepy voice.
Luhan wanted to leave the food there and grab his cute girlfriend in his arms because her sleepy voice was just too cute to resist but he knew that if he leaves then, the food will be ruined.
"Why don't you go get ready for classes while I finish making this?" He suggested and Hyoyeon nodded before returning to her room to bath and get ready.
"Thanks for the food!" She prayed before digging into the delicious breakfast Luhan made.
"Eat well. You need to regain energy after yesterday's exhausting events." He smirked making the girl glare at him cutely. "Byuntae!" She said before stuffing her mouth with juicy bacon.
"That is one more thing to add to my newly found side I guess." He shrugged.
Hyoyeon swallowed the chewed food before commenting. "Oh, I knew that way before."
"Really?" He looked at her skeptically and she nodded back. "Well then I don't have to hold back anymore."
Her eyes turned into saucers. "You were holding back all this time?!"
"Oh yes baby." A teasing smile played on his lips. "By the way, we have to join my parents for a dinner tonight."
Hyoyeon choked on her food and Luhan immediately passed a glass of water to her. She drank from it as he patted her head helping her. "I've to go get a dress to wear tonight."
Luhan laughed. "It's okay. They'll be fine with whatever you wear. It is not a formal function. They just want to meet the girl who makes their son happy and changed him for the better."
"You sure?"
Luhan nodded. "In fact, my father told me that he was concerned about me in the past. Worrying whether I was unnecessarily forcing myself to meet others expectations, trying to be the perfect son, the perfect friend and a perfect boyfriend. Now he feels at ease. I should've talked about you to him earlier."
"I was really surprised when you told me that he was happy to hear about our relation. To be honest, I was afraid they weren't going to accept it and put you on house arrest like other chaebol parents in makjang dramas." Luhan laughed at what Hyoyeon said. "My father is definitely not like those evil chaebol fathers and this is not a cheesy drama, Hyoyeon. This is life."
"A perfectly imperfect life."
Luhan smiled tucking a strand of hair behind Hyoyeon's ear. "With a perfectly imperfect boyfriend." He leaned into capture Hyoyeon's lips into a sweet kiss.
