"Run faster Parissa!" Pryde yells to his little sister over the wind, tugging on her cold hand as they round yet another corner not having a specific destination. Pryde now realizes being on the track team wasn't such a bad idea even if they are running bare footed."Pry I'm running as fast as I can" Parissa informs her brother as it becomes hard to breath and a little harder to move.
"Pry.." Parissa says so out of breath it's barely above a whisper as her chest tightens.
"Paris come on" Pryde yells as he feels Parissa trying to pull her hand away.
Parissa uses her last ounce of strength to pull her hand free causing Pryde to look at her.
"What's wrong Paris?" Pryde questions a little out of breath as well, as he sees Parissa wheezing holding her chest.
Parissa eyes begins to water as her lungs feel like they on fire, and her airway feels like it's closing.
He stands there froze as he realizes Parissa is having a asthma attack, he's only been around once when she had one in the past mostly because she rarely had them.
Once it registers Pryde rushs over to Parissa and do what he saw their mom do the one time Parissa had a asthma attack and they didn't have the inhaler.
Pryde looks around and sees a park across the street so he carefully scoops Parissa up in his arms and carry her over to the nearest bench.
Sitting Parissa upright, because bending her over or laying her down will make it worse.
Parissa chest is heaving up and down, Pryde bends down in front of her and gently touch her face like he saw their mom do once.
"Paris focus on my eyes" Pryde says softly as he looks into Paris glossy honey brown eyes that she gets from their father.
"Take deep breaths like practiced" Pryde tells her calmly, remembering that it will help prevent her from hyperventilating until he can get a inhaler.
Parissa focus on her brother's light brown eyes and she starts to feel more air enter her lungs as she breathes in through her nose, as Pryde counts to four and slowly exhale to the count of six.
"Purse your lips" Pryde suggest since he knows it'll help slow the exhalation and keep the airways open longer. Parissa continues to breathe this way until her breathing was once again normal.
After Parissa breathing is under control the need of sleep soon takes over. It becomes harder for her to keep her eyes open but she tries to fight her sleep to scared.
Pryde notice Parissa struggling to stay awake so he offers her reassurance to help her sleep.
"Paris don't worry nothing is going to happen to you" Pryde says with a soft laugh as he sits beside her on the wooden bench.
Parissa shakes her head no as she shivers from the wind blowing.
"Why you always have to be so stubborn?" Pryde ask with a forced smirk as he wraps one arm around her to keep her warm.
"Pry mom..is dead?" Parissa says sounding more like a question than statement looking down at her necklace.
"I know" Pryde says more to himself as he looks down at his own necklace the thought still hasn't sunk in.
"What are we gonna do without mama?" Parissa ask as her eyes start to water and her bottom lip starts to quiver.
"Go to sleep Paris" Pryde demands softly changing the subject since he didn't have an answer.
