Chapter 40 - The vines of morning

Classical music , violins , pianos , hard drums and flutes played continuously a aggressive symphony .

I looked around seeing golden decorated walls . The ballroom was a massive room with beautiful people wearing big beautiful dresses and gowns that flew as they danced as if they were clouds .

I looked around , I just kept looking for someone ... I don't know who and I don't know where to look . Thousands of people danced uniformly on the dance floor , girls gossiped on the side , men drank champagne and wine , women ate pieces of caviar covered finger foods and older men talked politics on both sides .

I just kept looking around as if someone was waiting for me . I was in the top of a long and large grand staircases, golden and the steps made of marvel .

A girl looked at me . A beautiful girl with big decorated hair in a long up do . Her back was turned to me and she turned only her hair as to signal me something . Her eyes were light blue and very bright .

She nodded her head as to signal me where to go and quickly walked to the side .

I decended quickly from the staircase and followed her . The music played softly now .

I heard talks and whispers . The gossiping women looked at me , fans covering their powder faces , yet I just kept following that woman .

She had walked to the center of the ballroom and gathering in a group of beautiful women .

And then I saw him .

" Niall ! "

He looked at me from across the ballroom . And had supriced look on his face . My only instinct was to tell out his name .

" Niall ! " ...

I woke up in a grey bed , small and the room was not furnished and looked very poor . The walls where white and the paint was peeling , the Windows were covered in newspapers and there was no one around .

I breathed heavily .

I wondered where I was . I've traped in the pile of dirt and broken walls so very long I had forgot what was like to. Breathed fresh air .

" I'm glad you are awake " Leigh Ann came in . Her wild curls in a tight bun and wore a tank top and cargo pants .

" what happened ? Where am I ?"

" you are in London , or at least of what was left of London "

" what do you mean the rest of London ? How long was I down there traped ? "

" a long time ... The world has changed . There is no London anymore , there is not even a United Kingdom anymore ... "

" what ? " I questioned

" the human race are no longer in control ... Well come , you must be hungry ... You look like shit by the way ... Come downstairs I'll tell you everything "

She left and I quickly got out from the bed and I followed down a broken and dark hall with framed pictures broken and burned of a family . Maybe the owners of this house before they left ...

I walked down the stairs into a dark living room with no couch only wooden chairs and people sitting there and on the floor just talking . There was a metal bin which was lit on fire to keep the people warm . Then I realize they are all vampires like me .

I walked to the back and entered the kitchen were Leigh Ann and Jesy sat .

" I though I would never see you , Liam " Jesy said , her red hair was cut short and looked thin .

" can you tell me what happened now ? " I turned to Leigh Ann .

" it's long , you might want to sit down , it's a long story that you've missed this past five years "

" I was traped for five years ? " I sat down an a Wooden chair and asked , with a hard expression on my face .

" yes , well maybe even longer . As you were traped the seven witches were located , the old supremes that ruled the undercity were killed , and there was a lot of complications that happened "

" who killed them ? What happened to the under city ? "

" Josh Devin killed them , H.I.M , he located the sisters and he now rules the capital , but before he could , a few years back The vampires became in charge , so we did the mistake of hunting the Humans and putting them in labor camps where we would harvest their blood , and then the human population decreased drastically , we ruled the capital untill a few of the seven witches decided that it was time for them to rule the World and now vampires are being hunted down because of what we did to the humans . There are very little humans out there but we try to get by on animal blood . "

" what about Niall ? " immediately all of the vampires in the kitchen and in the living room looked at me like I had said something nasty .

" Niall is the one who took the capital , we are trying to locate the other sister before they do ... "

" And I am helping them track them ... " a voice came from the back and I quickly turned around
