Many years ago, there once lived a boy. A fearless, dare I say courageous boy. He grew up to be a leader of an entire army to take down the notorious Mastodon. He had friends come and go, but his greatest friend was an ordinary boy. One who'd be living life simply by staying at home working on the farm. But one fateful day changed it all, and for the greater good.
He was enrolled to join the army, and it was possibly the best thing that's ever happened to him. He went on and became Yaban's greatest hero, and was chosen to fight in multiple wars without end. Both friends were very courageous by the end of their lives...
...But what happened after that? After the wars, the victories, the rewards? What happened?
Well, the fearless boy ended up becoming a king, ruling over Yaban and keeping them all safe alongside his wife, who was originally a princess, and his trusty friends, especially the friend that's original purpose was a farm. They had all decided to document their lives, and to keep their battles going with never ending victories, because they want to remind their descendants that light always comes out of darkness, you just need to be that light. Mastodon's descendant will surely remember his feat and try to make things "right", but the king's descendant will be there to bring peace. So they took their finest book and branded it with Yaban's Crest, and it would be passed down from generation to generation. But there was something in the book. Something dark and scary.
It is said that Mastodon will be resurrected, and will wreak havoc on the future world. No one would be ready for him because of the future generation's incapability so realize what's good and what's bad. The end of the world as they would know it would come true, but three individuals would be given the help and the power of their ancestors to restore time once again. They will have friends come and go, and will ultimately hold up to their ancestor's legacy.
2,000 years later...
Chapter 1: Of Flames and Innovation
"Ài dí ēn!" I heard the teacher call out. I sprung up from my sketchbook to come face to face with Mr. Wang, my Mandarin teacher. "Why didn't you follow along with us?"
"I-I'm sorry, I was just, uhh, I was-"I sputtered until someone else cut me off.
"Don't lie, Aideen, we all saw you drawing in that stupid diary of yours," Seth snarled. For some reason, that got a few chuckles out of the others in the class. I shook my head and licked my top lip, trying to think of a comeback.
"At least it's more productive than you just playing Injustice all the time on your iPad," someone in the corner of the room said to Seth, who was actually playing the now tiresome game at that moment. He slid his iPad down under his desk and into his lap.
"Hey, would you look at who's talking? The kid that's always telling everyone that 'THE END IS NEAR!!!' is trying to put me down on his level?" Seth shot back at him, and he wasn't wrong with that one. It was just yesterday when I got off the bus that I saw him trying to convince someone to join his future resistance to the aliens that're going to bring the end to humanity.
"Well, who's to say that I'm wrong?"he said to Seth.
"Who's to say that you're right?" Seth jeered.
"Enough! Seth and...whatever your name is...in the hall now!" Mr. Wang shouted, silencing the whole class. The two started to sputter but decided to drop it and head outside. "Ài dí ēn, follow along next time or it's an after school detention for you," he sighed, shaking his head. "I'll be right back, class." Mr. Wang proceeded to head outside. The class, as expected, started spewing out dumb vine memes while I continued with my drawing.
