Hii!! Mona here!

I was looking through my computer and guess what I found! I found this unfinished story which I was writing when I was 12...and totally obsessed with vampires. I kinda still am. This is a fan fic of Twilight & Vampire Diaries. I didn’t change it before I uploaded it. I promise. I only corrected a few spelling errors.

I’ve decided to upload all I wrote in batches; there are only like 5 chapters.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

THE END

“Ellie?” Jeremy called from behind me. “What!” I answered as I turned to stare him in the face. Taken aback by my harsh reply, he frowned his young face and said that we needed to go then hastily turned around and left the room. I sighed heavily. Sometimes I was very mean to my little brother for no particular reason but today I was unusually irritable. Maybe it was because of the funeral I had to attend today. Yes, a funeral. Of my foster parents.

As I got into the car beside Jeremy, I thought of how I didn’t want to go through this again. I had already lost my biological parents when I was six, now ten years later I was going through it all over again. My life was normal on the outside:

Elena Gilbert, typical high school beauty queen. Dark brown hair, grey eyes, high cheekbones, fair skin, average height, lithe body and outstanding student. Good grades and star athlete at Sylvester High. Lives in sunny California with her loving foster parents Mark and Annabelle Turner. And fifteen year old brother Jeremy Gilbert.

Wow. What a life, right. It seems almost too good to be true. And it is was....

Perfect on the outside but horribly wrong inside. Elena and Jeremy’s real parents had died when they were very young in a very mysterious way. They were murdered in their home with their two little children sleeping upstairs. Elena hadn’t heard anything which was very strange. The screams should have woken her up. She remembered going downstairs the next morning to see the goriest scene she had ever seen. The memories had haunted her for years and years. The nightmares were horrific and confusing. Elena tried her best not to think of them. She knew Jeremy tried his best too.

As if that ordeal was not enough. After being given a good foster home Elena realized she was...strange. She experienced the weirdest things and sometimes she caused them. Elena herself could not explain them and so she didn’t tell anybody and hid them. Elena could tell when things were going to happen and could sometimes literally see things before they happened. She could also sometimes make people do things she wanted them to...if she tried hard enough. Headaches would come regularly and they felt like someone was hammering her head but as the years went by they became less painful and her ‘powers’ grew stronger and more dangerous. Elena tried her best not to use them but at times it felt like they had a mind of their own.

It had been last week. Yes, it had. Ellie, as Elena was popularly known got home after school after having one of those ‘power’ outbursts. Veronica McRodges, a snotty I’m-the-centre-of-the-entire-universe girl from her Trig class had mouthed her off and got Elena really upset. Elena didn’t mean it but she made Veronica nose bleed really badly until she screamed in pain. That’s when she realized that it was getting out of control and she needed to tell someone about it. She had made up her mind that she was going to tell her parents. She hoped they would understand.....

When she got home that afternoon and she told them about all the strange things that had been happening since her childhood, their reaction was exactly as she had feared. They looked at her as if she was crazy. From then on everything was a fuzzy blur. Elena began yelling that she was not mad and that she needed their help. The Turners then got worried and began treating her like a mentally insane person. Mr. Turner tried restraining her when she tried to run out of the room out of the door while Mrs. Turner attempted to soothe Elena with meaningless words. Jeremy had then run into the room hurriedly to see what was going on. Someone immediately told Jeremy to call the hospital while Elena felt like she was being restrained. Mark held her tighter as she fought harder and was kicking him frantically while Annabelle began sobbing. It felt surreal for Elena, she expected them to understand and to tell her it was going to be ok. But instead they were treating her like she had lost her mind. She was now determined to break free from Mark’s suffocating hold. With all the strength she had left, she kicked him in the gut. He cowered in pain, clutching his abdomen as Ellie bolted out of the room and out the door.

Elena ran out into the now dark street not really sure where exactly she was  going. She was breathless and quite tired from the struggle. After running for a short distance in the pitch black night, Elena sat on the cold tarmac behind a parked car. She was very tired and cold as she heaved not quite from exhaustion but from the hard blow that came from realizing that she was all alone. No one understood and could help her. Tears stung and were soon flowing down her cheeks as she didn’t know where to go to or who to ask for help. “You should have just kept your mouth shut and sucked it up!” Elena thought angrily to herself. “But you’ll get through this, you’re strong.” Brushing gravel off her clothes and drying her tears, Elena got up and continued running because for sure they would be going after her. She smiled slightly at the thought of the stout and chubby Mrs. Turner and the lurk Mr. Turner running after her in the darkness. It made her laugh.

“Miss?” Elena was rocking back and forth. “Miss?” She was rocking harder. “Miss Gilbert, please wake up.” Elena then came to her senses and woke up with a jolt. She expected to see her foster parents or Jeremy but the voice wasn’t familiar. Once her vision had cleared up Elena saw a policeman in a dark blue police uniform. Elena was lying something cold, hard and slightly wet. the road or the pavement maybe. The policeman helped her up. It was early morning and it was freezing. The officer wrapped a soft blanket around her shoulders and she hugged it to herself tightly. She most likely had fallen asleep on the pavement because she was so tired.

“Elena honey, do you know how long everyone has been looking for you?” He said softly as he led her to a nearby cop car. She simply stared at him blankly. Elena knew that they were taking her straight to an asylum.

“I need to take you somewhere, ok Elena? This is very important. You shouldn’t ran away like that you know.” She nodded once and entered into the car. Elena could only sigh heavily as the police officer started his engine.

The route the officer was taking was unexpected. Ellie expected them to go to the hospital. Instead they turned into an alleyway that was taped with the kind of ‘Scene of Crime’ tapes from CSI. Ellie craned her neck to see what was happening and a tight knot had formed in her stomach when she saw it was a murder scene. She feared for the worst as she climbed out of the car and saw blood spattered all over the ground with police officers all around and sirens sounding from everywhere. Two stretchers with covered bodies were a bit of a distance away. Elena’s feet moved mechanically towards them and uncovered them unthinkingly. What she saw made a scream issue from her. It was her foster parents, pale and cold...and dead. She began crying uncontrollably and then she felt arms around her....comforting her. It was Jeremy.
