I've seen a lot of movies. Some of them are about intergalactic wars, some others about philosophy, some even about a man marrying a corpse. But 11 stood out from the rest. Here are the top 11 favorite movie.

Mild spoiler warning for number 10

11

Grease (1978)

I legitimately don't know why I like this movie. It has a terrible moral, cheesy dialogue and some stiff acting. But it has some weird charm to it, a feel good vibe. After the movie you just want to get up and dance. The songs are very well done, the choreography was very good, the cinematography was good (Especially in Summer Lovin') and the direction was great. It may not hit every note, but it still rocks.

10:

The Matrix (1999)

SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILERS AHEAD

This movie is a bit overrated. There is some overly  sappy, stupid parts. How Neo gets saved by the power of love, that was stupid. And when the nerd guy whose name escapes me talks about how everything tastes like chicken, that was very unnecessary. And Keanu Reeves acting, oooooooo my god. On a site called IMSDB, someone commented, and I quote, "Watching Keanu Reeves act is like watching the fastest growing cabbage competition".But this movie is very, very good. The whole idea of living in a virtual reality, is disturbing but also cool. The look of the movie is very slick and polished. The cinematography is very good. The fight choreography is excellent. The Agent Smith vs Neo fight gave me chills. I took the red pill, and The Matrix has me.

9: Mud

This is my favorite coming of age movies. It's very well written, has such a quirky story, and somehow, it works. This has my favorite child performance by Tye Sheirdan. You feel all the emotions that he is going through. Matthew McConaughey Knocks it out of the park with his role. He 100% embody's the role of Mud and is definitely the best performance of his career. I highly recommend this movie to every single person in the world.

8:

Signs (2002)

I don't know why this movie has so much hate. It's very well acted, It's very emotional, it's funny, its scary, its suspenseful and has themes of faith, fate and family (pretty much anything starting with F). I will put a link in the comment section for a video that fills the questions that you thought when you first saw it, like why did the alien come to a planet when there 70% water, and the whole cupboard thing that I forgot about. All those questions are answers in that video. He is not the next Spielberg, but he showed us one heck of a sign.

7:

Toy Story 1&2 (1995,1999)

Yeah, it's kinda cheating. If it wasn't for these two movies, I wouldn't be writing this review. This movie inspired me. It made me say "That's what I want to do". The script is fantastic. It tackles some very mature problems like jealousy and abandonment. Ya know, kids stuff. These two movies are amazing and will stay in my heart forever.

6:

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

It is now a tradition to watch this every Halloween and Christmas. This movie pure gothic creativity is so mesmerizing. Jack Skellington is awesome. He so relatable as well. This movie could win first prize as the most Tim Burtony Tim Burton movie. By the first shot you know it's Tim Burton. The songs are very good as well. It's weird, It's creepy, It's Tim Burton. This is good for a slight scare on Halloween and good to get into the spirit of a creepy Christmas.

5: The Birds

This movie had me on the edge of my seat from the first frame. I was grasping my pillow and the end of the movie. The build up was done very well and some creepy foreshadowing, then when stuff goes down, it's all the more terrifying. The only problem I have is that some of the effects are very dated, but the special effects aren't the point. A classic Hitchcock Horror that you must watch.

4:

Spirited Away (2001)

This movies creativity is astonishing. All the different character designs are amazing. The script is nice and warm. It definitely captures the essence of a child going to an unfamiliar place. It has very likable characters, a weird plot, and amazing artwork. This film has that kind of vibe to it that you just want snuggle up in a blanket and watch some amazing Imagery. This movie will have you Spirited away.

P.S Am I the only one who didn't get scared by the pig transformation part.

3: Rear Window

This movie is fantastic. I have no faults for this movie. The way the movie is shot is exceptional. The acting is great, The script is so good. It made me forget about critiquing the movie because I was so sucked in the plot. The way the chain of events slowly play out one by one is done so well that I think it's one of the best movies of the decade. I HIGHLY recommend this movie for everyone.

2: Brick

This movie is absolutely FANTASTIC. This movie has no big flaws, it is fantastic. This has one of the most original plots I've heard in a long. The acting it very good, equip with a great performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I love this movie and I couldn't recommend it enough.

And now for the Honorable Mentions

George Harrison: Living In The Material World

Big Fish

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

Aliens

Point Break

Now for the number one favorite movie of all time is (And no, It's not The Godfather or The Godfather Part II)

1: 2001: A Space Odyssey

I can't even even describe how fantastically, awesomely amazingly amazing this movie. I'm knocking my initial rating up to 5/5. First off, this is the most vast and most detailed set pieces ever made. And those set pieces where shot beautifully. At the start, it seems like a fun and interesting. But it takes a dark and semi-disturbing turn and has big questions about evolution, technology and life overall. Does it spoon feed all the information like an Adam Sandler movie? The complete opposite. If you hate movies with a s l o w pace, avoid it like the plague. But if you are fine with that, you'll have a blast.  Keep in mind that this took me 2 weeks to actually figure out this movie, but still, this movie mesmerizes you from frame one. Apes, Monoliths and Space Baby's, This movie takes you on an odyssey that you will never forget!

Thank you for letting me share my favorite movie with you and will see you on my next review
