"Cmon warriors, one more lap around the perimeter" I yelled out to my fellow pack warriors.

Oh sorry forgot to introduce myself. My name is Violet Cortez. Tomorrow is my 18th birthday and I was hopefully going to find my mate. I have long chocolate brown coloured hair and dark brown eyes. I'm the top pack warrior and the sister to the future Alpha of the pack. I have a little sister Avalon who's 6 and I absolutely love her to pieces.

I come from quite a large family, having 8 aunts and uncles on my dads side and 1 aunt and 1 uncle on my mums side. I've never met one of my aunties before though, Aunty Tinsley. I've visited her but I've never actually met her. She's been in a coma for 18 years. Everyone in the pack is hoping that one day she will wake up. Even though Aunty River isn't my actual Aunty I consider her my Aunty.
My mum only has 1 blood related sibling and that is Milisav. He's a witch like my mum which is so cool.

The pack members came back from their run and were sweating from all the laps that I've made them do.

"Okay warriors lets get into pairs and we're going to do some one on one fighting"

Sebastian grabbed me and I smirked, knowing well that this was going to be a good fight. Sebastian was the second best warrior in the pack behind me and also my best friend. Some fights he would win and some fights I would win so it was always close between us but I always had my little tricks to beat him when I needed to.

"Cmon Vi, show us what you got"

"Bring it pup"

He growled loudly at me calling him a pup and jumped towards me with his claws out.

I dodged him at the last second but he still got a clean cut to my arm. I jumped onto his back and pinned him to the ground. I grabbed at his arms locking them behind his back and he groaned.

"Rule number 1. Never go for the first attack" I said letting go of his arms as he flexed his back. Did I mention he was shirtless and pretty much the sexiest guy in our pack? I sat on his back staring at his muscles and could just tell he was smirking from underneath me.

"Rule number 2. Never get distracted by your opponent" he said flipping us over so he was underneath me. He quickly wrapped his arm around my neck and placed his hand on my head showing me that he could snap my neck in an instant and I growled.

"Tsk tsk Violet. I guess I was just the better opponent today" he said flashing me a smile.

All the warriors were watching, I couldn't lose to Sebastian. He was to cocky for his own good.

I leaned up and he loosened the grip around my neck so he wouldn't hurt me. I pressed light kisses to his neck and he released me. This is how I always win. It gets him every time. Everyone in the pack knew that Seb had the biggest crush on me but I had a mate out there somewhere who loves me. I had never even kissed a guy before, I only just tease Seb like this occasionally.

I kicked his feet out from above me and before he could land on top of me I rolled out from underneath him and jumped on his back again. I grabbed his head and roughly pulled it to the side, twisting a bit more would end his life.

He growled and snapped his teeth.

"Submit Sebastian"

"Fine" he growled.

"Stop growling at me"

"Stop being so stubborn and let me win"

The Warriors went back to their duelling and Sebastian and I went to go get cleaned up.

"Excited for your birthday tomorrow Vi?"

"I'm so excited! Finally get to meet my mate"

"Do you think he is from this pack?"

"I don't know. My wolf hasn't said anything so I couldn't be too sure"

'Vi quickly come to my office now' my twin brother Tai said urgently in mind link.

"I'll see you later Seb. Got pack stuff to do"

Tai was going to be handed the Alpha position tomorrow once he turned 18. Jace, Tai's dad, and Brodie, my dad, thought that Tai was ready to become Alpha even though he hadn't found his mate yet. He should hopefully find her tomorrow like me.

I ran to his office and he had his head in his hands.

"What is it Tai?"

"It's SilverBeam Pack"

"What about them?" I asked.

"They've been executed"

"No! This can't be happening! It was that monster and his monster pack wasn't it?"

"Yes.. It was Alpha Reid and his stupid Black Forrest Pack"

I growled at the thought of Alpha Reid. He was a horrible man. Everyone feared him. He was the deadliest Alpha in the country. Apparently he hasn't found his mate yet and I feel sorry for the girl or guy that has to put up with him.

"Violet did you hear what I said?"

"Sorry Tai, what were you saying?"

"We're next. He's coming to take our land and if I don't agree then he'll kill us all. We're going to be rogues if I agree so we pretty much are dead anyways"

"We can fight back Tai! I've trained the warriors up good!"

"Violet..."

"Cmon Tai. They're strong enough to go up against him and his pack"

"You haven't taught them like he has. They've been trained since birth to kill Violet. That's all they know"

"When are they coming Tai?"

"I don't know Violet! I'm not going to exactly call him up and say 'Oh hello Alpha Reid, when are you planning on attacking my pack?' Now am I"

"I'm sorry Tai. I'm scared is all"

"I am too Vi. But you know that I would always protect you. You are my number 1 priority in this pack. You're my twin sister"

"And you know that I would always protect you too"
